Today I'm showing y’all Paisley's hair wash routine!
The first step in her routine is to use a gentle clarifying shampoo. We're obviously using Outta My Hair by Hairitage by Mindy! To shampoo her hair, I part her hair into mini sections and the gently scrub her scalp with the pads of my fingers. The most important part here is to start with product at the roots and then move to the ends. This will keep the ends from drying out.
Once a month I follow up with my An Apple a Day Apple Cider Vinegar Rinse. This further helps clarifying and also conditions her scalp. Then I add my favorite deep moisturizing conditioner SOS and let her hair soak it up for a few minutes. I start at the ends and work up using a detangling brush and my fingers to evenly spread the product through her hair. Then I put her under the hood with blowing warm air to help work the conditioner into her air. You can also opt for the no heat version and let the product sit in hair for an hour or two or even overnight. After that I rinse her hair with cool water then wrap her hair up in a microfiber towel. Next I add some Strength Training Leave-In Pudding Conditioner and use small cloth elastics to stretch her hair overnight. Then tomorrow morning we'll be off to get her hair styled.

Whenever I see someone wearing their natural hair and they have kinky curls like this, I always acknowledge how much work it takes. As someone with straight hair, gosh, I can't imagine the full day it takes just to wash and prep kinky curls.

“I can’t imagine the full day it takes…” it’s definitely a day’s activity…two to three hours tops (at least for me) and that’s not counting those who do pre poo detangling or hot oil treatments and depending on what style you’re doing after prep and washing. Love my natural hair!

Is incredible how much patience Mindy has. I think that kind of hair seems very difficult to mantain, especially if is not your type of hair. I mean, a mom who has the same shape of hair knows how to treat it, but if you're not familiar with it must be difficult! I wonder how often Mindy does Paisley's hair. I admire you, Mindy 😍

The tangle teezer ultimate detangler is the only brush that works more efficiently and gently than my fingers on my type 4 hair. Cuts wash day in half, highly recommend for Paisley if the detangling takes too long. Great job caring for that hair Mama!

Cannot believe how much both Paisley and Daxton are so grown! Omg. Time flies. It is nuts. Thank you for the tutorial Mindy! It is almost Christmas! Yay! Are Brooklyn, Kamri, and maybe Dakota coming down for Christmas and Bailey and Asa coming from Waco to you all for Christmas this year? I hope both Brooklyn and Bailey can see each other and of course everyone else!! If both Brooklyn and Bailey come... house-hunting might be easier on you and Shaun!! My first glanced at you Mindy... I thought you were Brooklyn, you both sound so similar too. Love you all! Merry early Christmas to you and the rest of you!

Hey Mindy! From someone with Paisley’s hair texture, here are some tips I can offer to avoid breakage. I recommend either washing her hair in chunky loose twists, or sections (kept apart by hair clamps), and that you focus must of the shampoo on the scalp while the whole time maintaining gente tension on the hair, making sure it’s all extended so that it can’t tangle any further during the wash. When detangling, do so from ends to roots on lubricated and moisturized but NOT SOAKING WET hair. Detangling hair that’s soaking wet is one of the biggest causes of breakage. Also doing so in small sections is great. And when it comes to styling, please don’t do it on her fully shrunken hair, but instead stretch her hair FIRST with loose twists or braids to reduce tangles and breakage. I hope you apply these!💜 I’ve noticed that while your other daughters’ hair shows great growth, Paisley’s hair has appeared to stay around the same and I think it’s breaking, so I hope these tips help her hair flourish.
@amelie3793
@amelie3793 2 жыл бұрын
I noticed the detangling brush too- it looks like a styling brush rather than a good detangler. Maybe the EZ brush would be better cause that brush definitely causes a lot of breakage

I LOVE hairitage so much, i have very fine, straight, blonde hair, and I have struggled with oil and it being thin for as long as i can remember but this is the first product that has reduced the oil almost completely, as well as make me realize I didn’t have that thin of hair, just a lot of breakage and splitting. I love the shampoo, conditioner, refresher, split end rescue and it’s so affordable. I never could afford the expensive salon products so this has quite literally changed my life.

Hey Mindy! Remember that not every “protective style” is ACTUALLY protective. Sometimes the stylist cares more about neatness than health of the hair and scalp. If they’re installed too tightly, into hair that’s not stretched enough, or taken down gently enough, it can cause more breakage than it prevents. Also depends on the fake hair, some are rough on the ends. The ends breaking off happens very stealthily during the protective style process, keep an eye on them.
