The problem with modern bodybuilding is that guys don’t need to be winning competitions to be rich and famous, they don’t need to suffer that much they can be just as rich if not more from social media

For whatever reason, being My Olympia (or being a professional bodybuilder for that matter) doesn't mean to Regan what it meant to Ronnie or Jay or Derek Lunsford or Nick Walker....Jay's words - he's a "hybrid"......a cross between a real bodybuilder and a social media fitness influencer...he's obv happy about where he is, appears to be living the life. Do I think he has untapped potential in BB? abso-freaking-lutely... I think Jay has told Regan so many times, in so many ways.....what he needs to do to advance, but he does it as a friend would ('lock you up in a house'.... 'you gotta hate those weights'...'i dont want to see you smiling in the gym'.....). At the end of the day, Regan is doing what he wants to do and I only hope 10 or 20 years from now he has no regrets about his choices, cause now is the time if really wanted to be Mr O.

I personally see this as the end for Regan (as a future Mr O), as much as I love what he does and how he looks I think from the body language and the way he was speaking, he has other priorities in his life they are now taking over, which I totally understand. Gone are the days when the likes of J, Ronnie, Dorian, Phil had being MR O the only thing that mattered. Their sole focus was being the best, no mater what they had to sacrifice to make that happen. Their dedication to the art of bodybuilding is what makes these guys great. These guys now days, many with potential, lack the x factor and drive to make them number 1, too many outside distractions which is a shame.

Grimes has done well for himself, and from a fellow canadian's point of view, is probably one of Canada's most prolific bodybuilders past and present. Impressive guy, no question. However, at 30 years of age, and encountering health issues at a relatively young age, is a harbinger of things to come. Bodybuilding lifestyles, although appearing to be healthy, are in fact extremely dangerous as the body must contend with abnormal ingestion of nutritional products, supplements, hormones etc. The burden on the filtering system (kidneys, liver etc.) is significant, and although many issues do not present themselves now, they will down the line. Failure of these organs in later life is common in bodybuilders. Take it from a guy who's been there. Lets hope this is not something which will affect Grimes.

The soil is the same quality, the difference in food quality is due to weak regulations and bad practices. For example the tomatoes in the stores in America taste like shit but if you grow some organic tomatoes in your garden they will taste the same as italian tomatoes. The store bought ones are picked green and then ripened in transport. Also too many chemicals in the growing process.

Why would anyone compete if they can make money being a big muscular guy. Regan seems more like a business man than a bodybuilder and that’s awesome

Reagan is in the game to make money any way he can. He’s doesn’t have the mindset to be an actual competitor or threat in the game.

Some one who competes, Regan is being a big baby taking years off, look at hadi, different country where it’s tuff to live there, Reagan live somewhere things are easy no war, but doesn’t have the mindset these tops guys have, getting paid to bodybuild and not give it your all!

@@CutlerCast an actual competitor is someone who grinds and works as hard as Ronnie and Jay did when they were winning. This kid doesn’t have that same drive. It’s blatantly obvious.

I swear Regan is definitely fashionable, I have noticed. Seems all the canadians are fashionable like CBum and Iain. However, Jay looked like a real californian blondie back in the day on the magazine covers, I am sure that was the base of your success to begin with.

That’s what people have said for years and years. He’s 31 this year. The chances of him doing it now are gone. He’s only just worked out food issues when people were telling him about it 5+ years ago. He knows it. He knows from a business point of view that riding the wave makes him money so he’ll just keep rolling out excuses like he always has done.
