Nice! I think they are the best for what they are! They are a little slow for a single pass but that single pass can do a lot of work. I think it’s up to three real 2 inch by 4 inch finished boards on a single pass. We plan on getting one eventually but it would be nice if a slabbing attachment was available. I’ve talked to people who ran them at almost sea level to around 10k elevation and they said the power loss is quite noticeable but still couldn’t outwork the machine though. They contacted me about adding a turbo and it wouldn’t have been that difficult but my concern was when they went back down to lower elevation in the winter. I didn’t install one but they were talking about going electric and upgrading the diesel generator at their summer cabin.

You can add another edger blade and get two 2x4's on every pass plus it will allow you to bring the outboard roller down to prevent the head from buncing.

I like that, one man can saw a lot of lumber.

Once upon a time I had an old 127 that had 10' end stands and rack.Was used to cut oversized doug fir peelers.I had a platform that went up and down with log.I know MD has made many improvement since.But I sure miss it.The MD is better designed to salvage better grades of lumber compared to all these bandsaws.Is this just a part time thing for you?It surely gets in your blood.
