Loads of rain in Kent today Olly, some terrific shots of the combine there today! It’s amazing to think a few months ago you and the team were driving it the length of the country and now it’s finally finished 2023 harvesting (apart from the sweet corn!) Excellent blog and good to see Liv back.

SFI crops - great for songbirds in winter. Also great for corvids and pigeons. Hope you have plenty of friends with shotguns.

It was good to see Andrew back and liv we’ve had a lot of rain today rivers running down wheat fields ☹️ I’m getting sick now glad all our cows are in though. At least you got the barley finished 👍60%

Great to see the old gang back on the farm today - Here in East Yorks dry all day but not a combine to be seen Olly -- Ive not seen any trying Summer Barley but some do put in cover crops for the birds but mainly field margins - Only 80% today

1985 i cut barley at just under 40 % was ripe but weeks of rain caused desperation to set in ,if it went in combine and straw came out other end the combine had to go

Be careful with the standing in ear winter wheat / barley for wildlife. Great idea, but do not crow near property as you will get over run with rats and mice during the cold months. Farm next door left 2 acres around the headland a couple of years back, our buildings became there home as only 50 yards away.

Your little yaris does look smart, i deliver near a local Toyota garage and they have had a couple of white ones for sale. 33k is out of my budget😂 had nearly an inch of rain again last night so no allotment today, england were embarrassed at cricket,fed up 60% today hate winter and dark days.
