Did you only use the Tube as the main source of smoke or did you actually turn on the Electric smoker? I noticed you didn't get a smoke ring and I'm curious to know if you maybe cook the brisket for about 4 hours ONLY using the tube until it hits 140 inside the Electric Smoker without it being turned on if it will create a smoke ring. Thoughts?

Tube is the source of the smoke, but the heating element still operates for the smoker. I smoke most things at 275F. Smoke ring is due to a chemical reaction and literally does NOTHING for flavor. You can fake a smoke ring with nitrates if you so desire. I don't.
