Cutting Chipboard with Circut making a frame for model railway

Using the Cricut maker 3 to cut a heavy chipboard (2mm) frame for a brick vaulted over bridge. the design was only a rough idea and isn't particularly prototypical but as a first test piece I'm happy with that.
Suffered some tear out trying to make cuts too small, advice is to keep the piece pencil thickness and the small bits at 4mm cut fine.

So probably fine for making the basic building shape and cutting out windows/doors but kinda draws the line at finer details. Would it cut things like plasticard, wills/slaters brick or stone sheets etc? That would be interesting to find out, But certainly good enough for making the shell of buildings

I have some 1mm plasticard to try and will post when I do. The 2mm stuff has cut reasonably well and I think as a rough frame and then cutting thin decorative skins will work really well

Maybe make it out of plasticard instead of chipboard?

Yes, I've since cut plasticard and it worked really well. Need to try again

For thicker stuff definitely the way to go, although a modeling staple of styrene sheets isn't suitable for lasers, and this does stuff that a laser can't so it was a trade off in what to invest in.
