@@sabm2733 I don't really know what you mean, but if you can't do the special sheath it's probably because you didn't attack before. What I mean is that you can't start a combo with the Iai Spirit Slash, what they do is the little stab and then they hold the special sheath, after that, you can activate the Spirit Slash. The Spirit Slash gives you some super armor frames and does a counter (you still receive reduced damage), the counter needs to be timed pretty well, if you fail the timing you will receive the attack normally, if you release the Slash but didn't counter anything you lose all the gauge. I think that's it.

@@zz4_k not all of the gauge, just one level of it. Also if you time it right, you dont take any damage as long as your evade phrames are still up whike you are touching the monster (evade window helps with this). Also it has a random hit so good luck getting it to hit where you want. This vid probably took days to make.

@@Sundel_Marlutte it is good in rise but...something does not feel right when i foresight slash or lai spirit slash it just does not give me the good feeling i had when doing it in mhw maybe it is the sound but idk same for every other weapon like GS when you do the big boi damage attack i feel nothing

@@catsmoking6485 It's a problem a lot of action games have sometimes, where your attacks definitely do good damage but feel like they just don't connect, take DMC2 for example, the stinger in every other DMC game (note that I haven't played DMC4 or 5 yet) feels impactful, it feels incredible to get a well placed hit with one, but in 2, it just feels soft, like there's no impact and it feels more like Dante lightly slaps the enemy instead of actually stabbing them, so I think the problem you have with Rise's Iai slash comes from the lack of motion blur when you pull it off, it just feels off

Something every MH player can learn from.
