I finally decided to cut my bangs after many months of contemplating and it looks so good!! I was a nervous wreck throughout but it was so worth it. Any tips for anyone trying to cut their bangs in this style, or cut their bangs period, GO SLOW. Take all the time you need in order to prepare yourself mentally and make sure that, as she mentioned in this video, cut your hair longer than usual and cut slowly to get your desired length. Also have confidence. I know it may be hard because a lot of emotions are going through your head whilst doing this, but try to envision your final product. I also suggest consulting with family/friends that may have had their bangs cut (successfully) and their tips or do it with them in the process of cutting your bangs. If you’re gonna cut your bangs, now is the time to do it given the quarantine.

This video convinced me to have bangs just because I have the same head shape as you. I also have a small forehead but round face; because of that, most of my hairstylist told me to never get bangs or get bangs that will "slim down" my face. Thank you for this video.

You're probably watching this video out of context. I have a hair tutorial channel, and I always ask my viewers what they think before I make a change to my hair. Many of my viewers were worried that they wouldn't be able to use my hair tutorials anymore or that I wouldn't be able to do the historical/fantasy hairstyles I do if I get bangs, so yes, being able to hide them is very important to me ;)

This is a good representation of the phases of cutting your own bangs 1) “I don’t know what I’m doing, but who cares” 2) “pause, am I doing this right?” 3) “ok whatever just do it.” 4) *cuts hair* 5) adrenaline starts to rush because one realizes what they had just done 6) Gets all jittery and have nerves and chills radiating from the body 7) “wait.. omg wait.. If anybody does NEVER pull on the hair. Hold it loosely and cut it longer than you want. You can always fix it up

If anyone is trying to do their own bangs, PLEASE make sure you cut it longer than you think! Its so much better to make it too long and trim more off, than too short and not be able to do anything about it.

If anyone is thinking abt cutting their own bangs but are too scared, just do it. I went to a high end hair salon and my stylist butchered my bangs. They start almost half way through my head and there’s no way to hide this atrocity. My stylist never went to cosmetology school, she just didn’t courses in high school and she just turned 18... barely any experience and she didn’t know how to do bangs. I showed her a picture of idol IU’s bangs and she didn’t even take it into consideration. So much of my hair has been cut off, the bangs r like a curtain.

Sorry you had a bad experience. However, in the USA, it is against the law for someone to touch your hair and cut your hair unless they have a license. Perhaps you should consider suing the salon that let someone cut your hair when they did not have a license to do so?

Girl, I know your pain. My stylist done went past my temples. It’s almost like they attempted a bowl cut on me. I did show a picture of Shannen Doherty in 90210 as my bang-spiration but damn. I don’t know how to even style this shit. I should of just done it myself!

Im a dude, Ive been growing my hair out since November 2019, from about 2mm length, (I used to buzzcut my hair every week with a no.1 guard on the clippers). The start of quarantine it was like Zac Efron, but up until earlier today, it looked a bit Anakin Skywalker from Ep3. I loved the length on the sides and back, especially because my hair there goes like kinda curly and swoops back. I didnt like the hair on my fringe area however, because I wear the hair down, never slick it back, and because it was covering my eyes too much, i had to push it slightly to the sides to where it sits on my eyebrows. The issue was, when I did so, it just looked odd because I had these to big thick curtains and a awkward gap where my forehead was. I finally decided today to take the plunge and cut my own bangs. From videos I saw, I was just gonna cut it straight across, but I did the mini triangle like you did and that was it and it worked perfectly! I look like Luke Skywalker now lmao, but I really like it, it suits me I think:)
