Thanks for stopping by! I am exciting to show off the Firewood ProSizer. Taking Firewood cutting to the next level. Using a rechargeable laser to measure your cuts is an awesome option. It seems to me that it is just the way to go. It is easy to install and use. It is completely adjustable to fit your preferences. Thanks for checking out the video. I love that you said you were gonna get advice on sharpening while i was thinking about telling you that chain is shot. If you see dust and smoke insdead of big curled up chips then you need to peel a bur off the top plate. I keep multiple sharp chains with me and change them out as they dull then sharpen everything on a rainy day when im getting low on sharp chains. Bucking billy ray smith has some really intuitive sharpening videos, your bar also needs to be dressed occasionally, it will help if you flip the bar every time you need a new chain. The bar has 2 oiler holes and when you flip it the one that was perviously on bottom not being used will need to be cleaned out or you wont get any oil.

@@tractorrookie your welcome and thank you for the content, I acquired information from you so I simply returned the favor. One more thing I forgot to add, measure from the bottom of your foot to your waistline, get a bar close to that measurement so you can stand up instead of putting your face down where the bar can hit you when it kicks back. It will also save your back not having to bend over to cut. If you want to do everything standing then get a pickaroon.

That is a cool little toy. If you are going to be cutting down trees like those you were standing in, you need a sawmill. Its for the channel!

Have you tried it when cutting from the other side? Seems to me you would have to mentally note where the laser points, then cut there. I use a magnetic marker that can mount to either side of the bar.

😊Hi Rick! I have tried it both directions. It’s fast and effective. I think it is a little one direction over the other, but both work. I use it all the time. Definitely a fan! Thanks for checking out the video!🚜🇺🇸🌲

I noticed when you were unboxing your Pro Sizer it appeared that you had both a green and red laser. I’ve viewed a number of videos on the Pro Sizer on KZfaq and your video is the only one I’ve seen that was using the green laser. I’m curious if you found one or the other easier to see in different lighting. My property is similar to yours with a dense area of trees and varying light levels. I’m interested in getting a Pro Sizer for myself and would appreciate any input you have concerning the two options.

😊👊 Hi Robert, That is an excellent question. I was wondering that very thing myself. I think I got it backwards the the video, the website says the red light will run 5 hours and the green 2.5 hours. Bob had a holiday special shipping both colors, but if I had to pick, I would go for the 5 hours. Although, 2.5 is a lot of cutting time. I have not tested the two lights for a difference yet, but I think they would both work well. I will try test the difference soon. Thanks for checking out the video. Take care! 🍺🇺🇸🚜

@@tractorrookie I’m retired and 2.5 hours of actual cutting time would be a plenty enough if the green laser was easier to see both in bright and dimmer lighting. I watch your channel regularly and value your opinions on many aspects of maintaining rural property. Since I live only about twenty five miles north of Longview Washington where you bought your Kioti tractor, many of the projects you have been doing on your property in Oregon are somewhat similar to the projects I am now facing with doing on my property. Thanks for your timely reply and I look forward to watching your next video.

Be careful with the way u are starting your cut with the tip of your bar it can easily cause a kick back situation
