Ayanna Williams had been growing her nails for over 25 years but she finally decided it was time for the ultimate manicure.
Measured at a final length of 733.55cm (24ft 0.7in), Ayanna holds the current record for the longest fingernails on a pair of hands (female) - a record title she has held since 2017.
Dr. Allison Readinger of Trinity Vista Dermatology in Forth Worth, Texas, USA, was the dermatologist in charge of the cutting; admitting it was her first time doing a procedure on this scale!
The nails will first be on show at Ripley's Believe It Or Not! in Orlando, Florida.
In the immediate future, Ayanna plans to grow her nails again, but not quite to the length she previously measured at.

I like to grow my nails out pretty long (nowhere near world record) but whenever they break I have to cut them so they don’t look odd, and it’s such an odd feeling to feel things with your fingertips and have no restrictions like typing and opening sliding doors

I just rewatched her episode about her long toenails on My Strange Addiction and came across this video and I'm so glad she finally decided to trim her fingernails cuz she felt like they were another limb in the episode. I see she also trimmed her toes down and I wonder what made her want to do it after so many years after being diagnosed with diabetes more than 10 years ago. Whatever the reason I'm glad she decided to do it. She's such a treasure ❤️❤️❤️

Love to see the positivity here vs other places in the discussion of long nails. We all have our preferred length and as long you can handle it, I say go for it! I worked a liquor store briefly and the most annoying thing was all the ignorance around my nails. I tend to keep them around 4 inches long.

I hope she takes time to process and do all the things she hasn't done before or that feel so different without her nails. Her nails don't define her. She may need to learn that. So many exciting things await her. All my good vibes her way.

Her nails had such an elegant curve and grew so well. I think she let them grow becuase of this. They were really unique and beautiful. She also had a good six inches of toenails on each big toe, also extremely well-cared. The toenails were obvisouly already taken off before this video. It must have been really hard for her, she used to call all of her nails her "babies" ...

Her actually getting them cut is so strangely bittersweet, I remember seeing her soooo many years ago and being fascinated. Didn't really think I'd see her do it! 😅 Hope she stays strong, I'm sure this will benefit her health even though there's probably going to be a little relearning with her hands, looks like it was so refreshing and relieving 😅 Beautiful proof that we can love something, but sometimes it's best to move on to the next page 💞

The verb “to be” only gets used in past/present/future continuous tense, not in in the tenses: present simple and present perfect like you used in your comment. Examples: her hands must be *feeling* free. They’ve been *carrying* those nails for years. Notice the “ing” at the end of the verbs? That’s how to use continuous tenses.
