Took 2 days 1 day for demo and rough install the second was install and build out from the wall due to drain pipe. After that installed the counter top threw in the sink and plumbed it all together. Alittle drywall touch up. But it came out nice. The renters are super happy. Anyway thanks for your vids you and your crew

I had the same problem at our home here in San Antonio, TX back in the late 1990's & had to call Roto Router every other month. I rented a mini excavator on a holiday weekend & got a free extra day rental because of the holiday weekend. My awesome neighbor helped me for free for 3 days straight replacing the green thin walled sewer pipe with schedule 40 pipe at our home & my Parents home right around the corner from where the pipe exited our homes all the way out to the main 3 foot diameter sewer line where it ended. We haven't had a single problem with the sewer lines since replacing them back then. My awesome Dad paid for all the materials so we saved a lot of money in getting rid of that headache...

How have we not mastered this whole "indoor plumbing" thing yet in 2023? It amazes me that after thousands of years of removing waste from our structures, we haven't figured out a method or system that is robust enough that we could literally jam a small pig down a floor drain in our homes without backing up? We seriously can't figure out how to prevent something as slow-moving and harmless as a tree root from disrupting our sewage pipes? I can't believe how antiquated and rudimentary our sewer pipes are that we install today. Most people don't realize that after a few years under ground that buried sewer pipe usually has all sorts of small cracks and open joints for water to seep through, which attracts nearby tree roots and allows our untreated sewage to seep out into the ground. Isn't there some sort of continuously extruded, thick, flexible, plastic product that can produce a single, unbroken, never ending, pipe or something? Kind of like how slipfored concrete curbs use wet cement to form a single continuous curb of any length right on site. Like that, except for sewer pipe! A vat of hot plastic travels along above a trench, extruding pipe as it goes, and after the entire length, it gets cut off, left to cool and harden, then the ends are finished and dressed, and connected to the system. Leaving you with a single durable plastic pipe that can't get crushed easily, no joints to fail, no places for tree roots to push through, etc. Almost seems too easy! Lol. 😅

You most likely know this already, but to anyone who doesn't... If there's roots in your sewer line then it needs to be repaired where they are getting in... I met a few plumbers that say you don't have to use glue on sewer lines and I just say okay and glue it anyway because I have seen roots coming in through the joints and plugging the pipe on both sides of the septic tank... They will break the pipe and get in also.

This literally just happened at my folks' place. Tree roots damaged the main pipe under the house. Caused blockage, started failing to drain and just barely backing up. Told them to call in a pro who did everything seen here; camera, etc. House was built in 1883. 40 ft to the street from the access, damage was between access and street. They augered out the pipe, cut the roots, cleaned and flushed it, and then they lined the pipe. $12k CAD later...

You should get an expanding root cutter head it has a spring so you can close it to fit in side 3 inch but it opens up to 4 inch

Cutting/clearing the current roots is not a long term fix. The line is damaged/compromised and will continue to leak anything that passes thru the line. Its almost like he says it is fixed and dont worry about those roots to keep growing.
