I love scratch building,. In this type of modeling there are no restrictions. To build and create something out of nothing is the highest level one can achieve. adding this style to your models also turns them into one off works of art masterpieces.

The pipework you achieved with epoxy putty was inspirational! Finding tubing is easy in all sorts of sizes, but making the curved corners is less successful, the 'bendy' drinking straw is not clean enough and bending tubing is never 100% effective. Thanks for a workable solution - i shall have to try it. And a great project with the 'famous' yakult bottle - it is such an engine shape, but you've disguised it brilliantly. Nice work.

Trick for nicely bending any bendable tube: fill it with sand before bending. This way the tube won't give up in the curves. Some materials (e.g. plastic) may need some heating; metals won't. Wood tubes would require wetting or vapor treatment, and heating.

@@CutTransformGlue Ruffing it up a bit will help alot though. Adding epoxy will not work well. Generates heat and I think even a lil bit of heat will make it warp.

Just discovered kitbashing and scratchbuilding just now, and got overwhelmed by your works, especially the details like wires and pipes. I’m curious that do you have to figure out all the functions, purposes and reasons why the tubes and wires are connected that way when you’re looking at the references or you just mostly focusing on trying to replicate the greeblie look? I’m an art student and wanting to create realistic mechs, but these details kinda pulls me back and I don’t know where to start the research, school teachers don’t offer practical suggestions is sad. :(
