That is a seriously impressive rifle. The fact that it is a muzzleloader makes it more so. The accuracy is amazing too.

That's awesome. I quit shooting blackpowder back in 81. It's fun but the fouling is a bummer for me. Now you show this and I am loving it.

Low Pressure 50 Caliber Smokeless Loads in a 209 Factory Muzzleloader, 2 DVD set | eBay These 2 DVDs contain a demonstration of using Low Pressure Smokeless Loads in a 50 caliber factory muzzleloader. Savage Arms proved over 20 years ago that a factory muzzleloader can use smokeless powder. A retired Science Teacher/Gunsmith/Inventor used a strain gauge glued to a rifle barrel and the Pressure Trace II computer interface to compare the pressures produced by Blackhorn209 propellant to pressures which can be produced by ten different smokeless powders. These ten smokeless powders do not contain the corrosive oxidizers which can rust a rifle barrel. The loads developed produced a pressure equal to or less than that of 84 grains by weight of Blackhorn209, which a common Black Powder substitute made up of 83% smokeless powder (nitrocellulose). However, Blackhorn209 does contain corrosive chemicals.

I have that gun with a vortex on it. I love it. It’s very accurate and hits like a sledgehammer.

Awesome 👍. This really makes me want a new muzzle loader! I don't think anyone 20 years ago knew about the future of muzzleloaders. Recoil didn't look to bad? How does it compare to a 30-06 or 300 mag? Thank you for sharing

I shoot a paramount long range you should have picked a shorter range like 600 yds and that would be pushing it

And variflames are not the same size as a 209 and you can cure your hangfire Problem with magnum primers

They are quite costly. I know my buddy got this one on sale at Sportsman’s Warehouse. Good luck with finding one at a good price.

Yes absolutely, she is a beast. My buddy has shot deer out at 300 yards with it. It drives tacks and is really easy to load. If you’re interested, I have a full video posted about this rifle. Thanks for watching.

He just got back to me. It is the regular Paramount. It shoot’s amazingly well. He has gotten Whitetail in excess of 300 yards with it.

@@FloridaSunandSand2005 you’re welcome, if you have any more questions on it let me know. He has done quite a bit of hunting with it. The only negative he has mentioned to me is the Blackhorn powder is hard to find.
