Carl Wellington is the Director of Autonomy at Aurora where he leads a team of engineers to develop Aurora’s first product to market, the Aurora Driver. Previously, he was the Director of Perception at Uber ATG, where he worked on self-driving cars for six years. Before Uber, he was a robotics researcher for a decade at the National Robotics Engineering Center of the Robotics Institute at Carnegie Mellon University, designing software running on Mars rovers, 6-ton offroad vehicles, and John Deere harvesters. Carl has his Ph.D. in Robotics from Carnegie Mellon and a BS from Swarthmore College.
