Honestly, having Taker play a manager role would be dope. Obviously not necessarily a traditional manager, but I'm talking like.. Darth Sidious in Star Wars with Darth Maul and Darth Vader and Count Dooku. That's kinda of my vision.

They were trying to get Stone Cold to do it, but couldn't come to a financial agreement. There was always a bigger feud between Rock and Austin, so the original plan was to have Austin give Rock the Stunner. Since they couldn't get Austin, Undertaker is probably the most giving man to help out, in all of wrestling, so Taker probably did it for free.

One thing not a lot of people mention: Dusty let Taker throw him over the top rope AND pin him in his debut. Fast forward to Rumble 2008, Taker took a dropkick and bumped for Cody, there's a very sweet clip on YT where Cody talks about it. Rhodes' and Taker's friendship goes on for decades and spans generations, and that's why it made all the sense in the world why Taker showed up to even the odds for Cody.
@nikwalters1029
@nikwalters1029 2 ай бұрын
Hindsight Taker is the better choice. He's feuded with the family longer and by just being Taker it allowed it to be a quicker spot and keep the focus on Cody and Roman. Plus, it allows Austin to be a possibility for the Rock/Roman feud that you know we're going to have, which would still make sense.

If it wasn't going to be Stone Cold, then WWE shouldn't have placed that truck outside in that Rock bloodying up Cody segment and highlighted Stone Cold and Cena's faces. WWE themselves, not the fans, created the speculation and expectation. And so even if it's true as some are saying that Stone Cold wanted a lot of money and WWE wasn't willing to give it to him, it's still WWE management who were stupid for teasing it before the deal was finalized.

That match between Cody and Roman was already so good, and then that whole sequence near the end with Cena and Rock coming out was like, "damn that's cool." Then Taker shows up? I lost my flippin' mind. So, SO good.

As much as Stone Cold being the one behind Rock would have been epic…we could have had that at any PPV, but Taker showing up one last time where he held the Streak of all things…that was perfect!!!

I'm glad it was Taker that represented that spot at WM40. He was the judge in the locker room all those years, not Stone Cold. IMO, it was more appropriate.

That part of the fight where the Undertaker shows up and chokeslams the Rock, that made me a WWE fan. I'd loosely followed it for a while but that was the moment that made me a real fan. That was so awesome. Everybody involved should be proud

What an awesome story to tell. “My buddy mark and I were chatting shit in a wrestlemania suite, he said he was going to the bathroom and 20 minutes later he was choke slamming the rock in the main event”

I was watching this while taking care of my grandfather who had dementia He used to love wrestling. Slowly i started getting into it Considering he couldnt speak or communicate due to dementia he knew what was going on. I popped instantly when Undertaker gong hit. Unfortunately my grandfather passed away 3 weeks after. He lived until 91, he died peacefully at the hospital. 23 days before my birthday to be exact on the same day Owen Hart died and Bray Wyatt birthday. Also Alex Shelley birthday as well. Was very difficult losing someone close to me. Spoiled me as a child being the only child until my siblings came. The main event for wrestlemania 40 is now my favorite match of all time. Considering he never spoke he still remembered our names our presence. Never gave a shit about love was quite the hard ass when i was a kid, scared of him at times 😂 Live life to the fullest folks ✨️
