Күн бұрынHello guys , in this video i'm gonna show you how to use the cxmb ( custom themes ) plugin on your PSPs running the firmware 6.61
INSTALLATION:
Copy cxmb to your seplugins folder.
and add this line to your VSH.txt file ( make it the first line )
ms0:/seplugins/cxmb/cxmb.prx 1 ( for normal psp)
or
ef0:/seplugins/cxmb/cxmb.prx 1 ( for the psp go)
Restart the VSH
Note: you will need custom firmware for this plugin to work

I know this video is 2 years old but I would like to say thank you for your help I was having trouble getting it to work for a while but the comment section really helped me out the issue was very simple to fix and the themes are working fine keep up the good work 👏

Okay. I found out what the problem I was experiencing was. First here's a list of what one should do first. 1. Follow all instructions to a tee. 2. Make sure you spell the text file VSH and not VHS (like VHS tape). 2. Make sure you name the text file just "VSH" and not "VSH.txt". 3. Make sure you change the directory accordingly in the VSH text file. I followed one instruction and it was: ms0:/cxmb/cxmb.prx 1 This is an older way of doing it. Since it was placed in root. But now that we place it in a folder called seplugins it should be updated to: ms0:/seplugins/cxmb/cxmb.prx 1

@@R32GT-R_Takeshi Try using a plain notepad instead of the fancy wordpad on your pc. If you put ".txt" in the name it will become that extension, if you put nothing it should be nothing. You can still go in and edit afterwards, but to the computer its not really a text file yet.

for the people where it didnt work, i got it to work by moving the cxmb.prx and the SRC folder into its own folder named cxmb so its /seplugins/cxmb/cxmb.prx after doing that and rebooting the themes appeared

great Video, Thanks! Its a bit since you released this, was still wondering if you have ever encountered the symptoms I am having? - CTF's show up - CTF's can be loaded - Background is NOT animated (Tested with multiple Themes, including yours). - It acts like any random .ptf theme - No movement, nothing. Do you happen to have any directions for me? :o

Did you use the themes that had animated background in the first place ? Like the PS3 or toradora ?

@@SnowOnFireLP that's definitely wierd , you're on 6.61 , right ? Try disabling and then re-enable the cxmb Plugin ( do not forget to reset the VSH while doing so )

@@pspmav Found the Issue! Thanks for reminding me of the Version... While I did infact check the compability of cxmb (Im on 6.60 and its compatible), I assumed the Theme is good to use since it actually showed instead of showing "Corrupted Data" or anything similar. After manually changing the Theme Version to 6.60 via ctftoolgui, it works! Thank you for your swift responses and assistance! Never would have expected such "service" from a random KZfaq channel! You definitely earned all your subs. Keep up the good work!

my recovery menu doesn't look like that, it doesn't let me reset the vsh file i have lme cfw installed and not pro

Clicking on Exit will reboot and automatically reset the VSH on lme

Whenever I apply the theme of choice it just applied the background of the theme but doesn't change the layout.

Seems like wrong version of the theme or wrong version of the cxmb plugin. What's your firmware version?

I cannot get my PSP to load any themes. I got some off you just to make sure it wasn't the one theme. Not sure what I'm doing wrong (nothing at this point as far as I can tell). Turns out I'm dumb, I had named it VHS lmfao

Ha ha that does happen more often than you think , in fact I made the same mistake while installing a plugin on my PSP for the first time

@@pspmav haha yes I don't believe I've used plugins before. I use to have a hacked PSP back when I was a teen and back then you needed the battery to crack it open. These days I heard its much easier (mine came pre-hacked) so all I had to do was find out how to use it again haha

Do other plugins that modify the VSH still work with CTF themes? Like dayviewer for example.

Yes most of em works . But try not to enable 2 vsh related plugins at the same time , enabling beyond that might cause the cfw to crash

There are 3 places you could get CTF themes 1. CD romance cdromance.com/psp/6-60-ctf-best-themes-collection-download/ 2. PSP scene beta psp.scenebeta.com/noticia/temas-psp-formato-ctf-para-6-61 3. PSP theme Central ( but the themes on that site is pretty old , so you'll need to manually convert them to the latest firmware )

Even after enabling the plugin , the CTF themes didn't show up ? Where did you get the themes from ?

I think you have the vsh.txt file on your PSP , maybe you just haven't noticed it

The theme you uploaded works perfectly but the rest I downloaded from internet doesn't work... shit, I founded one cool theme from Persona 3 Portable :(

Did you try the one's I've uploaded with the other theme videos ? There are about 4 videos ( 20 CTF themes in total ) The ones you've downloaded from the internet doesn't work because it might not be made for 6.61 . You'll need to either find the 6.61 version of the theme or will need to convert it to 6.61

Man, what am I doing wrong. Done everything and yet it’s still not popping up in the plugins tab from the recovery menu. Have pro-c 6.61 1000 model. Any help?

Seems like the problem is related to the vsh.txt , than the plugin itself . Try checking these 3 things : 1. Check what you've entered in the VSH.txt file is correct . 2. Check whether you forgot to save the vsh.txt after entering the line . 3. Also , check whether the test file is named "VSH" itself and not "VHS" or "VSH(1)" or something like that .

@@pspmav Yep it was step 3 that got me. Had mine named VHS.TXT. Its always the little things. Thanks a lot! Had some more problems along the way but thankfully they are all sorted out now. If it wasn't for you then I would been in a tough situation. Thanks again man

hey dude, it's me again, I have a problem. I did all your instructions just as said in the video, and yeah I did see them in the themes folder, but when I apply it, it doesn't work. I do get the wallpaper for the theme, but not the custom UI. I'm using a PSP 1000, and yes it has 6.61 custom firmware. Any ideas on how to fix this? Thanks in advance.

@@pspmav So uh, a bit of a late reply. Turns out the cxmb plugin that I used from you wasn't working, and there was this one forum in wololo that gave a working cxmb. Yea I could use the themes now, thanks again my dude!

Yes , most of the custom themes have moving backgrounds unlike the normal themes. I have made 3 videos on such themes But if you meant using a png as a background from your gallery , no it won't .

I did everything like you showed in the video but it didnt work. I have 6.61 Pro-C but there was no VSH.txt file so i created one and added the line but after i did all the other steps and wanted to apply the theme it just got me the default theme. The issue might be that there is no VSH folder in my PSP directory but i dont know. edit: idk how but i got it to work. :DD

Bro you're using too many ram intensive plugins at the same time. Use either cxmb or zero vsh at a time

Hey there. Thanks for this but I have a problem, in the plugins menu on the VHS menu, there aren't any plugins showing up. Any way to fix this? Im using a normal PSP btw.

Did you add that line inside the VSH.txt file . And if you did add that line , check whether you had saved the file after adding the line .

You will need to have an unzipping tool such as winrar or winzip Download the one which suits your pc www.win-rar.com/affdownload/download.php And don't worry even if it's the trial version , you will be able to use it infinitely and it won't charge you a penny ( it will ask you to pay before use , but just ignore the popup message and use it)

I followed this tut, i'll try with another theme but it's not showing a theme for me. I'm on 6.61 LME2.3 infinity, i downloaded a suppos'ed 6.61 ctf custom theme (PS3 theme) and put it into "THEMES" folder in the root, nothing.. what might i be doing wrong?

@@pspmav I found my error before, not sure if you noticed but i said the error lol. CTF themes go in root>psp>theme folder, i made a folder in root called theme and that's wrong. all good now :D

No a folder , it's a text file . If you don't have one , just make a new text document and name it as "VSH.txt"
