Been dealing with this at our dealership. Because some people come in on their lunch to check out a vehicle, and writing it out on paper takes so long, some people just leave because of how much time it takes. And we’re unable to see our numbers, or see how much we’re loosing or profiting from a sale. Really hope they get this fixed soon

@sun4308 depends on the CRM. We use dealertrack. We're not affected other than TTL, which we just use the SOS website to get all that done. Just adds a few more steps. Dealers that use CDK for everything are pretty screwed

Down for days is very likely. The idea that there was a "second" attack is unlikely. It's more probable that their incident response processes were inadequate and they didn't fully remediate their systems. And the idea that there would be a BIG "holiday sale" on a mid-week holiday is pretty funny too. They will be lucky to get back to 100% by 4th of July.

Last Thursday the 20th I bought a part from a local Honda dealer that was a will call. I did get a notification for 24-48 hours. Called the dealer over the weekend and they told me there has been a major network problem so I told them no problem ill wait on the notification. As of yesterday I finally got the green light to go pick up my part. So I guess this cdk software was affecting coast to coast.

The Kia stealership my buddy works at was bragging that they have stayed open and made over 50k in gross the last two days. They markup all the inventory and nose pickers keep buying their cars in droves. The public is not smart and will continue screwing themselves. CDK being down has not stopped any of the shady dealers at all. If anything they are making more money.

I know exactly what I am talking about and all I stated were facts. Not opinion or speculations. And you are right about Kia being trash but unfortunately that dealer alone sells 300 a month to folks that can't count to ten and all they care about is screen size and apple/android auto capabilities. People are not smart and out number the smart ones 1000 to 1 so prices will only continue to rise because those folks are easy to manipulate.

@@michael8614 I wish that was true but they are killing it. 7k markup on all cars new and used. 300 a month in sales. One sales guy is raking in 30k a month! I cannot make this stuff up. That is just the one Kia dealer I am talking about. That same dealer is controlled by a corporation that owns dozens of other dealers in the area and are all doing the same. I know many throughout the area who work in the industry and they are all still knocking heads off like it was 2021. Absolute madness and the lots of full of cars now but people got used to paying obscene prices so they just accept it now. It is very sad for the smart consumer.

KPA is another dealer-wide auto inventory enterprise platform.
@fender4242127 күн бұрын
lol its called a DMS dealer management system... and KPA is not.... a DMS is like an POS system food chains use but for a dealership.... KPA is not a dms like CDK or Reynolds... KPA is dealership compliance and regulatory software.... CDK is your sales your booking of appointments your inventory, pricing, your techs use it for starting and stopping jobs/hours ..... KPA does not... hope this helps you understand the difference and why a DMS being down is a big deal. cheers

@@fender42421 I never said it was a DMS. Not sure why your smug remark? When I worked at KPA we offered a dealer ERP, compliance and lot inventory database for dealer website creation. Their head engineer and I were designing AI capabilities in their inventory search algorithms 12 years ago.

You can't just go back to paper in a day. Your customer data, records, invoices are all gone.. Parts inventories and bin locations are lost. Tracking, ordering and restocking lists just don't exist in an instant. Pricing lists are gone.. Service appointments? haha..You literally cannot find anything or call anyone. Is the part for A job on Wednesday in yet? If not, where is it? Good luck. If all your data and records were still in books it would take longer to do your work like the old days, but if there's nothing but 4 walls there's just nothing to go by. Pretty much a nightmare for workers and customers alike.
