Would also make the dating scene quite a bit more ummm interesting to be sure. Certainly put to bed the questions of "are those real", "how crazy is she" or "am I gonna wake up in the morning?" Speaking as a therapist though; yeah this could produce some useful data that could be used in providing more effective therapy. However there are two problems it creates. First is just the amount of data. As in statistics there is such thing as too many variables when it comes to providing therapeutic services. Often my first job is to sort them and isolate them. You throw in these eyes and the variables that you have to sort out and isolate skyrocket and you wind up wasting more time on that rather than working on the problem at hand. In short at best you're working with needless info, at worst you could be sent down some rabbit holes. Secondly a large part of therapy is the relationship that is built, if the therapist starts working with data that the client hasn't willfully given, and that the therapist cannot account for given their skillset (diagnostics, reading between the lines, reading the client etc), the trust that was built up would be tarnished or worse destroyed. It is this trust that is the corner stone of effective therapy. I can say without a doubt that in therapy you're working against a stacked deck already with the population that "doesn't believe in" or "doesn't need" therapy. Yeah those eyes could be quite effective in the skull of a therapist, but I think a few limits on what you can learn from them need to be put in place. Just where those lines are drawn, I don't know. One of those ethics questions that we don't have a true frame of reference for to answer effectively where we are right now. A lot of good could come of it (like online counseling) but there are a lot of holes and problems that come along with it as well that need to be addressed before we start digging into it (like online counseling). The only way we'll be able to get to the point where we have the context and ability to address the benefits and problems of "The All Seeing Eye Implant" is that we get it. Soooooo get on out there and create them, you've got about 57 years to do so. I'll be in my 90s (maybe) and out of practice by then anyway lol.
