A Cyberpunk video has been something I've wanted to make for literally years now. I knew the dawn of the fifth day would come for Cyberpunk, it was only a matter of time. That doesn't mean it's a completley perfect game. But it's definitely playable now! So I think it's time we discuss it all! Thanks for watching!

Cyberpunk is one of these stories that just gets better as you get older. V starts out as a hungry dumb ambitious kid who wants to get rich but by the end of the game he just wants to be happy and spend more time with his loved ones its a very relatable and a mature character ark especially when compared to most RPGs where your character is treated like a god by every npc he meets.

This is probably why I really love CDPR's games. I'm SO done with the usual "hello pleyer you are the only one who could save the world plz help us thankz"-trope. Geralt is treated as a monster by the world, V is mostly treated as a noob who can easily be used and walked all over. Neither The Witcher's, nor Cyberpunk's core is about saving the world and instead focus on simply delivering a good story with good characters, with pretty believable writing compared to most games.

Starfield/Barret-Hey, know we just met, but would you like my spaceship and pet robot? Cyberpunk/Dex-Hey, know we just met, but would you like some brain and emotional trauma? Cyberpunk really feels alive in a way that no other game world has felt to me in a long time, and the best part is V feels like a part of the world, but not an architect of it. His actions don't change the city on a grand scale. He's not a hero. He's not a villain. He's just a guy (or woman if that's your character) trying to live, and that's it. And Night City doesn't give a shit.

Despite the bugs and half-baked mechanics in some area, it was clear to me that there was a worthwhile experience underneath. The current version is so different from the launch version of the game. The gameplay and progression were unfocused and unbalanced and made playing it a grind while it was simultaneously unchallenging. No one had complaints about the story at launch besides lifepaths feeling underbaked. It most that people held CDPR to an expectation that they set for themselves and was pretty disappointed that they didn't meet it.

I loved talking to the characters in this game, not because of the characters themselves, but because nearly everything the characters tell you is worldbuilding cosplaying as a conversation. No, I don't care about what I would do if I got out of that city, but the fact some characters feel the need to ask me that question says more about the city itself than the characters. That's the kind of stuff I adore ! Conversations in this game drip atmosphere at every turn, and since I'm a player that enjoys atmosphere more than gameplay a lot of the time, those dialogue sequences were close to being my favourite parts of the game. I get to experience the city in gameplay, and then I reflect on it with the characters which gives me a new perspective once I go back in it again.

Just wanna start by saying I’ve been looking forward to this video for months. Really enjoy your videos. Advertisements in Cyberpunk aren’t meant to be GTA style. They’re meant to represent the world itself. There’s a bunch of lore to simplify, but basically, in a city that’s run by corpos, your attention is your most valuable commodity, and money your second. Advertisements need to pull your attention at all costs. That’s why they’re so gory and striking. Another creator made a really good video on this, “Cyberpunk 2077 in a World of Ads,” definitely check that out if you have time. As far as the story goes and “taking too long,” it is a combat game that has really fun gameplay, but it’s also a deep story game. Personally, I think good storytelling takes time, and has real meaning behind it if you stop to think about it. There have been multiple times in the game where I’m on my second play through and hears something and went “WHAT? No way I didn’t notice that, that’s such a cool small detail”. Anyway, I guess it just depends on what you’re playing the game for. I love story games, and Cyberpunk is my absolute favorite. Keanu Reeves as Johnny I know some people don’t like, I suppose that’s mostly just a preference thing. Personally, I thought 80% of his dialogue is pretty good and by the end of the game, it really felt like you and Johnny had a deeper relationship (assuming you didn’t pick the voice lines that make V a complete dick). Overall, enjoy your videos and interesting to hear your take on Cyberpunk. Keep up the good work!

@ComradeBread
@ComradeBread 6 ай бұрын
Yea people a lot of the time miss the fact that cyberpunk is not an aesthetic, but rather an examination of what the world would look like under a hyper capitalist corporate hell state. The ads are the idea that sex sells pumped (hehe) up to 1000%, people ask you questions in game because you're supposed to examine your own beliefs in a genre that's about crushing the humanity out of everything in the name of a quick profit. Having some flashy neon lights and not ever forcing you to think about the state of the world would have been a disservice to the genre. That being said some segments do tend to feel like they drag on if you're on a second play through.
@mb-ed8hu
@mb-ed8hu 6 ай бұрын
@@ComradeBread That's fair. I'm on my third playthrough (Judy romance, need I say more?) and there can definitely be boring parts another time around. But I definitely think they were important, no, essential, to my first playthrough, which is really what story games try to achieve. Personally, I couldn't tell you one thing they could change about the story to make it better. ( Except for romancing Songbird :((((( )
@ComradeBread
@ComradeBread 6 ай бұрын
@@mb-ed8hu you're definitely correct, you absolutely gain more with the longer segments than you would without. in a world where everyone has been numbed to the depressing slog that is 2077, the only things that make anyone feel anything is tantalising sex and hyper-violence, sometimes both with the existence of illegal XBDs that are basically snuff films.

The game is good now but they fully avoided denying any of these claims, and promised features like the wanted system which never got added. By this same logic bethesda has technically never lied about their games. There are 200 slide combinations for fallout 3’s ending. The building system for fallout 4 does just work together. Fallout 76 does have 16x better draw distances. It still isnt right to gloss over the reality of it and not deny any rumours that develop from that. A lot of these reviews seem to hang too much on the bad side of games rather than the good side and in today’s world over analysis can just be tiring.

@@jarrettscott Not at all, it doesn’t need to be over analysis of good or bad though. But the bad side of games like Cyberpunk is the lowest hanging fruit and it’s been covered a million times over.

I agree with you dragging up complaints from years ago is just obvious and very boring. The whiplash videos give me where they cover good and bad just to toe the line never fails to make me cringe.

The KZfaq algorithm confounds me. Why does such a great video have only 185K views? It’s easily a 600K+ video at the very least.

I didn't play the game back when it launched and I waited for it to get fixed. Just bought the game recently and I finished it yesterday. Out of 100+ hours I played, I encountered a bug in Sandra dorsett rescue mission, an audio bug in the mission where you had to down the Kang Tao AV and a couple of ps5 force close errors. So glad to see they finnaly delivered the dystopian cyberpunk world.
