Blackhand definitely survived the tower cez Smasher would be bragging for sure if he killed him

Johnny wasn't saved by Morgan, Johnny was cut in half by Smasher and Spider Murphy saved him with the engram provided by Alt. Johnny effectively died in the tower quite unheroically and it is why he has such a vendetta against Smasher, even if he doesn't remember the true reason as to why.

If Morgan Blackhand was indeed apart of the Arasaka crew, and he as well as Spider Murphy were the ones who saved Johnny and turned him into an Engram, it's very possible they changed Johnny's memories to help keep it as a black ops mission with no info leaks. This would also let Morgan fade into obscurity.

I am thinking even if we don't get a Solid Morgan clue in the DLC it's all most but confirmed he is going to play a major role in the next Cyberpunk title.

16:19 well when you meet with alt in 2077, if you tell alt you saw johnnys memories she talks about how you saw “his subjective account of what happened” and said his mind has warped the events into something that didn’t actually happen. i dont think we should be trusting johnnies memories for any of these events

Mike Pondsmith did confirm Blackhand wont appear in PL, apparently he still wants to finish his story with it being his own tabletop character its understandable the character means a lot to him and he wants to do it right, however there is a chance we could hear something about him in it but i can see it being just a little reference because they will of course keep his identity a secret.

I love how Militech and Arasaka are so unique and different in their own ways. Where Arasaka keeps Adam Smasher’s PS2 memory disk in their pocket and uses him whenever they need to deploy a walking atrocity, Militech’s poster child is hailed for not taking lives unless necessary. Not that that makes the corp any better, but it’s interesting they aren’t going for a murder machine slugging match. Suppose the world has endured enough apocalyptic events

Sometimes I like to think he died when the Arasaka tower got bombed. Emphasis on Died. Like the name died but not him. He left the game, made his legend, and took on a different alias.

We know for sure Johnny recollection of events are not what he thinks, Alt mentioned so my guess is, Spider and Blackhand put him into soul killer before he died and twist the events for two reasons, Johnny would have love to be the martyr who died facing the corpos and second and most important, it was blackops so the leader Morgan Blackhand needed to be out of the picture to cut any ties back to Militech so all the blame went straight to Silverhand and Arasaka would never know who provided the tactical nuke

This proves that Johnny's flashbacks are DEFINITELY non-canon, and like other freshly dead folks thrown into Soulkiller, his memories are fragmented and incomplete. His narcissism probably filled the blanks himself, based on his own ego, his hatred for Arasaka, and his love of action movies (Bushido X, anyone?)

I think it's hinted at that Morgan Blackhand, albeitly very very loosely, is behind the memory tampering of the Perelez's. So it's also likely that Johnny's memory was altered in order to cover up the government's involvement and make it so when Arosaka interrogated Johnn'y engram, they'd only get the image of a terrorist act. Could also explain why Johnny's engram was top shelf and was regarded as special from other engrams. Maybe Arasaka knew the memory had been tampered with and were keeping it in hopes of getting the truth?

Wonder if Johnny's unreliable narrative is a MGSV scenario his delusion is a deliberate ploy to protect Morgan - the real "Big Boss" - from Arasaka discovery.

If Morgan isn't talked about in Phantom Liberty, there's still a chance that he might be seen in Orion, the sequel to 2077.

It's also interesting that in Johnny's memory, Adam Smasher sure isn't wearing a DaiOni suit either.

I remember way back when cp2077 was first announced and the life paths they had, had you "choose your hero". I wish they had kept that in and expanded on it.

In Cyberpunk edgerunners, David's crew is tasked with the extraction of a VIP who has been kidnapped by the booster gang the Maelstrom. When they arrive to the Totentanz, David and his crew fight off the Maelstrom members and come face to face with a cyberpshycho, presumably Hammer, the founder of the gang. After beating him, they rescue the VIP, a girl named Isabella Morgan. Upon finding her, David informs her that her father has sent them to recue her. Out of all posible surnames to give to a random character why choose the one shared by the most famous merc of Nightcity? To me this is some sort of easter egg

I always figured the legend that Johnny was behind the tower attack instead of Morgan Blackhand was Militech trying to distance themselves from the event after the fact. 50 years isn't a long time but you can rewrite a lot of history in that short period of time with the influence and resources at Militech's disposal, especially with all of the chaos going on during the time of the red

Johnny doesn't mention him because he doesn't share the spotlight, so I have always believed that the engram Johnny edited him out of the whole thing so he could be the center of attention. The main focus.

Morgan Blackhand, Johnny Silverhand, what's next Tucker Copperhand, Sandy Bluehand?

I think if Smasher survived then Morgan Blackhand would as well if they were both the top 2 mercs on the planet. Rogue managed to escape and survive until 2077 so Blackhand could. I think him and Johnny will team up again through V for a special op for the NUSA president. Maybe that space shuttle was brought down in an attempted coup and they think the president is dead but the president survived and they are keeping it quiet until they have neutralised the threat. The NUSA is backed by Militech so Blackhand would be part of that.

God, I hope we get more information in the DLC. It’s like we are missing a big ass plot hole with 2077 cause of the distance it makes with the solos in universe

I believe he was a lead.., he just lead his half. Morgan handled the rest. and tbh.., who can dictate what Adam decides to target.., He can hate Johnny.., but have uncontrollable processing throttling in the presence of Morgan black hand.

Hot take, phantom liberty is Morgans re surface back in 2077 and he's ready to finish smasher because he lived when V melted him down (PL's hook), and hes going to continue the fight on Arasaka and restore a phantoms past of liberty. He was alive in the early times and probably wants a call to arms of liberty. Very basic assumption tho.

Anyone that knows the true sequence of events from the tabletop game would recognize that Johnny's "memories" from CP2077 are more inline with Morgan Blackhand's. Morgan was the one who set the bomb, and Morgan was the one who fought Smasher on the rooftop. Johnny actually died like a bitch in some crappy computer lab. Spider Murphy slotted him with Soulkiller, but couldn't retrieve his engram since her datacase was damaged, and his body was just left in the tower. My personal take on it is, since Johnny was technically dead when slotted with SK, the program couldn't copy the parts of his brain that stopped functioning. His engram was incomplete. Morgan was then captured, likely by Smasher, and Soulkilled (e.g. - the scene of "Johnny" in the chair) and his memories/personality used to fill in the blanks of Johnny's engram. A couple interesting tidbits to support this claim... all the artwork of Silverhand from the ttrpg shows him as clean-shaven, with Morgan always rocking stubble or a beard. Yet in 2077, Johnny "remembers" himself as having a beard. Also, Johnny's (Keano's) voice sounds nothing like the guy singing those Samurai songs; the voice V is hearing might actually be what Blackhand sounded like. There might be a couple other things, but I don't have enough time invested in CP2077 to find them. Still, it's some food for thought.

How old would Morgan be in the time of the Red? If he was in the army in the 80's (let's say he joined at 18). Wouldn't that put him in his 60's at the time of 2020 and 80's in the Red?

Given V's natural abilities, what if during phantom liberty, we find out that V is Blackhand's illegitimate kid? V has the leadership skills, the merc skills, the ability to withstand massive amounts of cyberware (given that it's possible to max out your cyberware in act 1). Just a speculation.

For whatever reason, Weyland Boa Boa, who _is_ confirmed to be dead, doesn't have his own drink in The Afterlife either.

The fact that the mostly-human Mr. Blackhand not only survived to middle age as an SOF guy in the 'synthetics rule' world of _Cyberpunk_ , but _thrived_ ... speaks much to how capable he was. And to complete all those Militech missions less-lethally, too! I just barely finished my first watch-through of the _Edgerunners_ anime. Well worth the wait and avoiding spoilers! Inspired me to pen some ideas for a fanfic... now I just need to get some sourcebooks to keep me on the right path.

They are a military corp working close with Militech in the lore. Now watch Phantom Liberty expansion trailers. We fight some new military faction there. It doesnt look like Militech. Lazarus corp confirmed in Phantom Liberty ???

I think its worth mentioning: Just because Johnny doesnt remember his death quite correctly, doesnt make him less badass. When he faced Smasher, he did it probably knowing full well he was going to die. He bought his friends time so that they could live. Its true his narcissism twisted those memories over time but lets congratulate him on having brass balls in that moment.
