The heart cost is both a change and a bug.. Per the notes "Cultist Altar, Blood Altars and Blood Chests now ask you to sacrifice a red heart instead of damaging you. You can go to 0 hearts this way and you will survive on 0 hearts IF you have a Soul Heart. You can go game over by sacrificing your last heart." So its correct that it takes a heart directly. Its a bug where it killed you, since you had a soul heart

He already knew about it taking health directly and had been utilizing it in the past several episodes. It killing and using a revive in this episode is what he referred to as possibly being a change or a bug.

It's a beta change, soul heart no longer prevents death.

I don’t think it’s a bug, I believe it was changed so that Soul Heart doesn’t keep you alive at 0 hearts due to the exploit with the Alter giving stats.

I love this class, definitely can get some broken builds going in a few unique directions. A few things about this episode: - There are a few more conditional cybernetic augments, for example I remember one that doubles your power - Body damage is a "subcategory" of striking damage, in the sense that all body damage is striking but not the opposite, it's explained on a few items but it's easy to miss - The upgrade that got cursed away at 34:00 says body and striking damage, so it works for both, for example it's very strong as a first for characters that start with maces

Bomb damage is great because not only do they hit like trucks, but explosive damage ignores that hp gate at the end of an enemy's shield threshold so you blow right through it.

Unarmed still counts as a weapon for traits and other things with weapon in the description, and it also counts as melee. And the new arcane enchant guy in the tavern (and similar things) makes it drain mana.

I should say counts as a weapon except for upgrade level things. More for things like, "attacks with your weapon...".

@@stuicy22 that feels very weird but perhaps because I thought the branch would make a random enchantment like other branches you find. That didn't get super clear from appearances, I hope the reason for my confusion is clear to you

With Equip Load getting its huge changes and most armor sets becoming extremely heavy (or at least not paying for themselves anymore) I think one of the strongest early charms is the 25 equip load charm. It allows some armors early game for non-strength builds and allows for Int and Dex builds to get access earlier to items that would not be available without it. Also it does not take up a slot so it enables OP off hands, boots, and accessorys that enable entire builds. Honestly underrated Charm AF

According to the wiki there are 10 traits for the cyborg. The ones you were missing were: Double your power and trigger on drain when you burnout. Now imagine, double power, power for every actor, power for every companion, and 25 power for everyone of those automatons.... Just think of that BEEG damage.

I had a run last night on the Ninja where I was trigging on dash effects with the insanely high rate of attack legendary, Farmageddon. There seems to be a cap on the number of shadow clones you can have up at one time, but it was too many for me to count.

Using a magic weapon with a high attack speed on the swagger ninja fills the screen with mana stars and any of your other on drain triggers on top of infinite clones. I couldn’t see anything.

idea for character, Gambler start with 3 dices of each type, gain 2 dices of each type when entering a floor, can use dice to gamble about various things - cursed rooms ( cost 1 dice, effect 50%chance to not get cursed, you have 3 chances to gamble ) blood door same as cursed room, boss room same but the effect is 50% to 1 more reward and 50% to 1 less reward, shop can use 1 dice for each item effect (randomly from -10% to -80% item price), tavern special NPC you can play with (3 rounds each with different reward) round 1 (60% chance to win 10 gold 5 souls and food that gives you 2 stats) round 2 (40% to win 20 gold 10 souls 3x item that enchant weapon) round 3 ( 20% to win 40 gold 20 souls random legendary item) you can keep playing until you win 3 rewards or run out of dices

When you equipped the unarmed damage charm at 38:50 you were reading the base damage number instead of the line under it which is total damage. It went up by 100 on your screen.

My first run of cyborg was how I got the achievement for beating death without hitting anything with a weapon. Rocket powered punches on first trait sealed the deal. The strength trait bloody knuckles went very well too.

Also I do think if you put on a + ❤️ thing and spend it, the item itself would lose the heart and you'd have to wear it and heal to get it back. Same with armor and stuff. Ive tryharded juggling equipment before, and you can slap stuff on unattuned even at the blacksmith to repair it for example.

I would assume what happened around 8:00 is a bug. I encountered something similar, with a different character (which I don't remember, but it wasn't the Cyborg) upon trying to access an alignment shop after beating a floor boss, that door was also locked. There it took what might have been a suppression charge or possibly block/armor instead of my red heart. You got outright moidered tho.

Watching the newest episode while binging Brotato (just got it a few hours ago) when I come across an item called Retromation's Hoodie. And it happens to go perfectly with my dodge based build. Kismet.

It's possible that the change to the vampire doors improves the necessity/utility of extra revives.

No way. You’ll just not take that Cinder mod or skip the doors all together. Not worth it unless it’s like a Royal Armory.

I’m fairly certain the game still gives you bomb rooms with infinite bombs. Btw there’s a bug where if you re-roll off that trait you’re left with 100 bombs.

Seems interesting. A definite focus point for the rest of your build. Feels like after you pick 1, you're punished with less perks that'd be more focused on what you want your character to do.

watching this I realized that secondary attacks are supposed to follow the cursor. I play on controller and they don't, they just fly off to the side randomly, it's very weak.

This was an extremely confusing run for me tbf. Cyborg is weird, and idk if he deserves another attempt to try and make augments work (compared to Superhero they were a bit bland) Hope the series sticks around for at least a little while more. Love this game, love the music, love the hilarious moments like finding Emblem of Bahamut in hell shops

Just did a run today and the vampire door didn't kill me when I only had one heart with some armor or soul hearts. Not too sure what happened in your run or mine but give it another try? Worst case is you lose a revive

I thing the Vampire door change is fine. Based on other runs it seems to not really increase the difficulty of the game. The change makes it relevant and makes you look at modifiers depending on the character your playing.

That is definitely a bug. I died twice trying to open heart doors and heart chest as well. Just stay away from them for now

I don’t think it’s a bug. I think he hard coded it because the sac alter event was giving infinite stats. If so that wasn’t a good solution.

daily exercise continues. favorite speed on treadmill: 7 mph is optimal. least favorite: 5 mph is too slow for me to walk but too fast for me to jog. very annoying!

According to some comments you get 5 guaranteed plays before it breaks, and it gets more and more likely every play after that. 6 is a good middle ground because it is very unlikely.

Unless it has been changed on the version you are playing you can take door damage without dying as long as you have soul hearts, armor, block etc left At least on the version im playing you can lose all red hearts without dying, so opening blood chests or damage doors is an option if you have any of the other 'health' options. This funnily enough also works for the event on floor 2 which gives you 1 random stat and deals 1 damage to you. Infinite stats since it only eats red hearts. But im guessing at the very least that has been patched out in the version you are playing.
