Never before have we offered such an inside look at the world record holding Top Fuel Nitro Motorcycle of drag bike legend Larry “Spiderman” McBride. In this in depth interview we cover many topics including McBride’s Top Fuel Motorcycle drag racing world record, wrecks, crash explosion and what he has learned and applied that has given him such an impressive safety record for the past 43 years. We ask the Spiderman to describe his routine and what it’s like to hit 265 mph on the world’s fastest motorcycle in just 1320 feet. From the Top Fuel Motorcycle engine to the chassis and electronics, we give you a full tour of this amazing motorcycle. We also give you a look around McBride’s motorcycle machine shop Cycle Specialist and do a ton of bench racing, even asking McBride about the new age turbo charged drag bikes and their quest to enter the five second zone. McBride also gives us a look at his extensive trophy collection and drag racing memory showroom. Sit back, relax and enjoy this interview with the world’s quickest and fastest motorcycle drag racer, the legendary Larry McBride.

I want to thank cycledrag for showing this and also thank Larry for being so free with the information and showing us around the shop. At 71 I have 9 years on Larry but I run my own shop and enjoy going to work everyday. I will continue until they find me here making parts face down in the chips or laying next to an engine I am building. All the best in the future

about 98 Larry visited Australia to attend 4 TopFuel meetings in our Capital cities, I attended 2 meetings and met him a week before the first meeting in South Australia in a Shopping mall promoting the upcoming events, Larry and his mates were so cool and introduced themselves to us, it was great, at the race meetings Larry walked around giving advice and helping so many racers, visited me in my rooky years pre-race in the pits giving tips and tricks, and many others. I have more respect for Larry McBride and Steve McBride as the coolest dudes on Earth than his achievements as the Fastest Man on a Top Fuel Bike

The McBrides are a class act and their dedication to the sport and detail is evident in their results. Great inside look at their operation. I could relate to the prerace load out and all the things needed just to go down the road. Age is only a number, I'm 14 w/50+yrs experience. Look up Jim"Cowboy" Kennedy. He races sprint cars with us in his mid 80s, has been known to yodel (if coaxed) after a win! Watching from NorthCentral Pa. Well done, Jack.

Thank you Jack and Larry for the excellent interview. Setting here in Ohio with the weather getting cold on a Sunday morning dreaming of next season, was a great interview and tour of the bike and shop. I have had the pleasure of meeting both of you. I crewed for some friends in the pro mod class that was personal friends of Larry and had a excellent evening after the day was over at the track, couldn't ask for nicer people to hangout with. Again thanks Jack for all the insider info. Love the app.

I rarely sit through an entire interview/whatever you call this video I just watched. But I did this one bc both of you, the interviewer and the interviewee were such decent, nice people. Not full of yourselves pounding on your cymbals guys that I have very little use for. Just decent down to earth people telling their story to whomever wants to listen. Both of you are a rarity that, I think, the world needs so many more of. Huge kudos to you both! Keep up the good work!

Larry is such a true gentleman and a pioneer in the sport of top fuel racing. Legend is not a big enough word to describe what larry and his brother are to motorcycle racing. The shop is a working museum and chock full of new and innovative parts that he sells and manufactures as well as sharing knowledge with other racers in the sport. Jack Thank you and Larry for showing us around the shop and the peek into the mind of the fastest man on 2 wheels. Much appreciated of the both of you. The immense amount of time ,reaserch, and work that goes into 6 seconds (Or less) of racing is unbelievable. I'm sure everyone is looking forward to the 2021 season as am I. Thanks Jack. Whatever your craft, whatever your 'therapy', whatever your profession: take time to share some knowledge with those starting out. As a musician, it's nice to hear guitar players share their particular amp/guitar/efx set up to achieve what works for them. It's nice that Larry would share with the world what works for him: to a degree. It's still the record producer (Brother Steve , crew) that creates the finished product for all to enjoy with a little mystique left in....... Thx, for the great interview! 🇺🇸🇺🇸. @@cycledrag Seeing Larry run unfortunately not but is on my bucket list to come to the states and see, but I have seen Chris Matheson and Jay Upton run here in Australia, and a special thanks Jack, for taking the time to travel all the way to our back waters to share to the world top fuel cycles Australia. and the shop tour of Chris Matheson, and the three D printing of parts, to see if they fit or look like they will work before the time consuming and expensive CNC prosses. To any one that haven't see these bikes live, to here the fire up, and the switch over to nitro and the note at idle, is to any ear the anticipation of something special. and when the throttle is snapped wide open and the four candles light up behind the rider, its like thunder on rails, and the explosive nature of the beasts, is nothing like you have witnessed or experienced before in your life. How these guys and gals hold all this together is truly amassing. I am a mechanic, and have built several race engines and knowing at 6,000 RPM the piston is bobbing up and down 100 times a second, and the weight of the piston and rod at the bottom of the stroke against the crankshaft in a standard bike with standard fuel, is about four ton, the same at the top of the stroke, add nitro to the mix and the forces multiply, thats why the conrods are so beefy, and the crank cases are billet. Now with your imagination, bike idling at the start line, Lay your self over the top of the engine, knowing what's going on bellow your chest, and watching that tree, Amber, Green, you have the throttle wide open by now and even in the imagination the sheer hell of fear and excitement has got all the adrenaline in your body flowing, and by the time you have read this line the 1/4 mile is over and your throwing Shute, squeezing brakes as hard as you possibly dare, to pull up and get ready to do it all over again. Even in the imagination your hands are shaking and the body's trembling, thats why we say its equal to or better than sex. So even if you can't make it to a live meet press that subscribe button and click that bell for notifications, and tell a friend, and give some love to the man. Great video Jack, Thanks for all you do for the sport. FYI, Sam still runs steel brake rotors. He's seen too many problems with the carbon/carbon setup with bending brake stays (arms) and pulling the brake arm tabs off frames.

The spiderman aspect of this set up makes people attend drag race meetings. More riders need to adopt that approach. Why is there no Captain America or Hulk drag racer. That's the sort of publicity the sport needs.

The secret weapon IS Steve McBride.. the Mad Scientist.. this guy is so smart.. ask him to turn on the fans on the tow kart.. when you shut them off, they stop at excavated same time.. this is how smart that man is.. not to mention the best rider to ever throw a leg over a bike.. with an Elmer Trett Tshirt under those leathers
