Eingebettet in weitläufige Weinberge zwischen Nals und Salurn erstreckt sich die Südtiroler Weinstraße und vereint jahrhundertelange Weinbautradition mit einem Hauch südlicher Lebensart. Die Temperaturen in dieser Gegend Südtirols geben her, dass du hier das ganze Jahr über Rad fahren kannst. Aus diesem Grund entstand hier der erste Radweg im Land. Zypressen und Feigenbäume verraten dir, dass du immer weiter in den Süden kommst. Die Radroute auf meist flachem Gebiet führt dich vorbei an historischen Ansitzen, wie sie es nur in dieser Gegend gib. Vorbei an Neumarkt, am Fuße von Castelfeder, das bereits im Mittelalter ein florierendes Handelszentrum war. Durch Mischwälder und durch das Anbaugebiet von Äpfeln und Wein. Sie führt dich zu Kellereien, du streifst Auer mit seinen Weingärten und landest direkt an der Landes- und Sprachgrenze zum benachbarten Trentino: in Salurn, der letzten Ortschaft in Südtirol, wo der Radweg direkt ins Trentino übergeht und Italienisch mit dem Südtiroler Dialekt eine Symbiose eingeht.
La regione tra Nalles e Salorno è tappezzata di meravigliosi vigneti, tra i quali si snoda la Strada del Vino. Le temperature in questa zona meridionale dell’Alto Adige ti consentono di andare in bicicletta tutto l’anno. Per questo motivo, qui è stata creata la prima pista ciclabile della provincia e, probabilmente, una dall’aspetto più mediterraneo; cipressi e fichi ti indicheranno che ti stai dirigendo sempre più verso sud. Il percorso ciclabile, perlopiù pianeggiante, costeggia pittoresche residenze nello stile architettonico dell’Oltradige, tipico di questa zona. Passerai per Egna, ai piedi di Castelfeder, fiorente centro commerciale già nel Medioevo. Attraverserai poi boschi misti, meleti e vigneti. Il percorso ti porterà in cantine dove non solo l’architettura è eccezionale, ma anche la qualità del vino. Toccherai Ora con i suoi vigneti e arriverai proprio sul confine provinciale e linguistico con il vicino Trentino: a Salorno, l’ultimo paese dell’Alto Adige, dove la pista ciclabile ti porterà oltre, fino in Trentino.
Set in the heart of South Tyrol's greatest vineyard between Nals/Nalles and Salurn/Salorno, the Alto Adige Wine Road intertwines centuries of winegrowing tradition with the southern way of life. This area of South Tyrol has the best weather for cycling all year round. Not by chance, it was here that South Tyrol’s first bike path was built. Cypresses and fig trees tell you that you are heading further south. The cycle path is on flat terrain and leads you past historical sites unique to this area. At the foot of the enchanting Castelfeder, you find yourself in a trading post of the Middle Ages. After a ride through mixed forests, apple orchards and vineyards, you arrive in Auer/Ora. The route continues to South Tyrol’s last town of Salurn/Salorno, bordering with Trentino. Not only does the route traverse Trentino, but also the Italian language intersects with the South Tyrolean dialect.
