Cycling from Rotterdam to Friesland on the fietspads in time for Fietselfstedentocht

Saturday 7th June I arrive in Rotterdam and begin a 200km bike ride Northwards to Friesland across the windswept Netherlands for the start of Fietselfstedentoch on Monday ( / strava ). Cycling through Rotterdam, Amsterdam and across the Alsluitdyk bridge I arrive late Saturday evening just in time to check into my hotel.

Cheers. Yeah very windy indeed... but most of it very helpful to me! Don't have to wait long - next one at 10 tomorrow morning and the ride I came here for, the main event, will be available to watch on Monday.

Oh and another thing I just remembered about the cycle paths... all that wind brought lots of branches down... days later heading over back to Rotterdam, all the cycle paths clear of debris. Remarkable.
