Former ultra marathon runner and cardiac arrest survivor, pursuing fitness through cycling. On a warm September day I rode the Haliburton County Rail Trail from Haliburton to Kinmount. A stunning, varied, sometimes bumpy, usually sandy, always interesting 35 km multiuse trail.

I've attempted this section of trail a couple times but always got skunked by early spring conditions. Might wait a few months this year and try again in mid-late summer. Even with that I'm sure this section is still a good challenge. I was coughing as those ATVs went by on that bridge! LOL Thanks for sharing! Who knows, we might run into each other some time. :-)

Nice one 👍 This looks similar to the surfaces we ride locally. Nice ride and what spot for break...

I have watched your video several times to get a feel of the path. With ATV’s on it I was wondering if there are many ruts. We are planning on doing this trail on Thursday from Halliburton to Kinmount and I was wondering if I should use my 40mm or 35mm tires?

Good day Hal, the trail is actually very rideable. There are a few sections of loose sand and some washboard sections. I rode it on 32mm tires and it was no issue at all. The only problem that you may encounter after the recent rains is a little bit of flooding after Ritchie Falls. It's a great ride.

@@BodyBreak I think next up may be the Sequin trail. I believe that could be quite a rough ride, with rough surfaces and monster insects, but we will see. Then I was invited to ride some further East towards Ottawa. It really is amazing how many trails there are in Ontario!!

@@cardiaccyclist7477 I wear a bug net if things get bad. Prevents bug’s from going in my mouth. Looks a little goofy but it works.😁

@@cardiaccyclist7477 if you want some company on the Sequin ride let me know when you’re going. Joanne doesn’t want to ride that trail.
