Cyclonic Winds blow through Bangladesh and the Philippines

Typhoon Ewiniar peaked early this morning with winds near 100 miles per hour (160kph), rendering it a Category 2 on the Saffir Simpson Scale. The storm has since weakened, likely due to land interaction, and its eye structure collapsed. However, restrengthening is likely and the storm could match its first peak in the next couple of days as it heads away from Luzon.
Cyclone Remal still looks decent on satellite imagery, but has weakened substantially since it made landfall in West Bengal, India. The storm's huge size is proving to be a serious issue, with strong winds and very heavy rainfall over wide areas of India and Bangladesh, including high population cities such as Kolkata and Dhaka.
Elsewhere, yet another new area of interest is coming up in the South Indian Ocean, with a low chance of development as it gradually moves westwards near the British Indian Ocean Territory.

Chattogram (Chittagong) is under water right now. 235 mm of rain recorded for the last 24 hours till 6PM local time today. The whole Bangladesh is receiving enormous rain. Dhaka received 151 mm, 2nd highest rain recorded in Patuakhali 211mm.

The GFS was being aggressive for Remal if anyone remembers from past model runs. Though its likely due to that model's fast formation stage and too fast intensification... Honestly, looking back, the GFS model is the one giving us the doomsday scenario rather than the other models...

Now im waiting for Maliksi and Butchoy and it has a 40 percent chance of developing. Its peak will probably be TD to TS and will either form in May 31 to June 4. It wont be a threat to land but it will start the rainy season in the Philippines.

The gfs was all wrong about that one being a a c3 cyclone in the Bay of Bengal

Normally the GFS is known to be conservative when it comes to intensity... In this case however, it's the complete opposite due to its fast formation and too fast intensification. This is likely due to Remal's broad size and moderate shear preventing that doomsday scenario from materializing. So, we should be thankful that prediction didn't come true.

Whole Bangladesh got strong winds and still it gives strong guest winds. Along with over 300+ rainfalls. Guest winds in the coastal area was 145 kph, Dhaka received almost 90 kph guest. A big system for a reason. West Bengal also affected with Odisha, Myanmar, Asam, Meghalaya. Remal🤝Aila
