The first X-Man, Scott Summers possesses the mutant ability to draw ambient energy from another dimension through his eyes which are actually portals to the dimension, he usually channels this energy into concussive force blasts. He is visually distinctive for the ruby quartz visor he wears to control his devastating power. A born leader, Cyclops succeeded his mentor Professor X to command the X-Men.

If Hollywood hadn't been too obsessed with revolving around Wolverine too much in the movies, then every character, even Cyclops, would've for sure nailed their roles

There isn't really a bad version of Cyclops. There's just never a version, besides the comics, that gets to just absolutely nuke everything. I guarantee you that if the general public gets to witness Cyclops's true power once, his popularity will skyrocket.

Did you know? Bryan Singer originally had Chris Potter aka voice of Gambit from 90s animated series to audition for Cyclops for the first X-men movie although he was never interested in that role where he had to wear the dark visor the whole time. As soon as Potter finds out he didn't get the part, he was relieved and was hoping to be called in later on to play live action Gambit in the movies but sadly it never came up until they've casted Taylor Kitsch as live action Gambit for the Origins Wolverine movie.
