I was literally losing my mind at this too. I’ve always been raised by the movies since young, and I don’t think I remembered him being this badass. Reading from others experience on how Scott truly is suppose to be, makes me even more happy for this show. It’s introducing me to it all now!

@@punishercastle5487same. They did him dirty in a lot of future works by making him the source of misery for others. He’s now always portrayed as having a good heart but just not getting the bigger picture at times. Like the time he almost killed a bunch of children and whatever else is on the list of worst things he ever did. He’s strong but never wins a fight nowadays against stronger foes. Even tho he’s this versatile.

@@usmansubhani7482 not to mention how in some comics in the last 5-10 years they basically turned him into another Magneto. I admired him so much growing up, and there seems to always be some sort of aspect that people take away from him in certain mediums. But when it comes down to it he’s a fantastic leader with crazy skills and a very admirable sense of justice and comradery. Really hope they keep showing that in this show

Kinetic energy still generates heat, so sometimes his powers do work like heat vision. I think it depends on whether he hits a thing with the point of the beam or the edge. But yeah, in Origins his beams defenitely work more like heat vision. The rest of the films are better.

He can control the output of force from his eyes. That’s why he wears the visor cuz it makes it easier to control the output. In the comics he’s been shown to cut thru a mountain with his eyes. So a school ain’t much.

I always explain it to people as it’s almost exactly like a power force or stream of water. Like a super strong water hose. It’s as strong as he wants it to be with the control in his visor or the one in I believe it’s the index finger in his glove sometimes.

They were never lasers but they weren't always opening portals either. That was a later explanation for how his powers worked without sending him backwards (can't shoot a force out without receiving a force in the opposite direction)

Think of it like this: If it was an infinite dimension of electricity, Juggernaut would be a robot powered by electric current, whereas Cyclops would be a wire continuously grounding out that dimension's electrical power into ours, but both unceasingly and unstoppably.

I allways was wondering why Cyclops was hailed as the leader and tachtical genius of the X-Man while being just able to shoot his stuff or throw a decent punch. This actually showed me how ingeniously he uses the kinetic force generated by his optical beam to move around and create more momentum for a punch or just a quick evade.

Scott channels the punch dimension through his eyes, his eyes are essentially portals to the punch dimension, which gives him his concussive blasts, his eyelids and goggles are the only thing that seems to negate or open and close the portal.

His eyes release energy that is concussive but without at least a small amount of control they can cut and burn like a laser. You just don't usually see it happen a lot. Not to mention his visor and sunglasses have red quartz lenses to absorb the red colored light shooting from his eyes so he can see like everybody else, minus the fact he will continue to see red.....
