The Cyclops TPMS displays real-time pressure readings for both front and rear motorcycle tires. It also shows temperatures so you'll know if you have a low tire or a tire with a safety issue. Installation is quick and easy - all you do is replace your tire valve caps with 2 sensor units, and install the color display unit on your handlebars or in your cockpit. The sensors transmit signals to the display unit which gets power from your bike's 12-volt system. You can customize the system so it gives an alarm if your tire pressure gets too high or too low. Where would you recommend to wire the unit into on a F800GSA?

Will this work on a F700GS? On the FRONT cast wheel the valve stem comes out on the SIDE of one of the spokes.

Willy Chu Yes it will work on stems that go out to the side but the stems must be metal. Rubber stems would deflect and be damaged.

I've got one . Could be a great product if you could read it in daylight. The monitor unit is solidly built. Good thing it has a red flasher when the pressure reaches a pre determined level because I can't read anything in normal daylight.

Interesting comment. I've never had any problem reading my display, even in bright daylight. Of course you need to orient the display so it's looking directly at you, not at an angle. Otherwise you get a reflection. Same is true with your speedo and odo.

Hi there - what's to stop people stealing the sensors and the display unit ?
@bestrestproducts648
@bestrestproducts648 5 жыл бұрын
Every kit comes with a big stick. Plus there's a decal that says, "These sensors and display unit are protected by a a rider who carries a big stick". This works pretty well because there's never been an instance of stolen sensors or displays.

Why do you have cable ties on your brake discs?
@bestrestproducts648
@bestrestproducts648 7 жыл бұрын
The BMW f800gs has a quirk... on rough roads you hear a loud klacking sound coming from the front end. 1 source is the internal plastic fork guides whacking up against the fork caps. BestRest Klack Stopper bushings solves that problem. The other source of noise comes from the free floating brake rotors. they bounce and klack due to their design (which has some merit) but the noise is annoying and distracting. Using zip-ties holds them in place; the rotors can still move but only slightly. Noise goes away. Some guys use safety wire for the job.

Keeps the rotor from clanging on dirt roads. Those are floating rotors which have benefits but the noise is annoying. Zip ties allow a littler float but prevent the clack clack clack noise.

What attracts me to this is knowing at a glance what I set pressure to....so I am riding I can think about how well or haw poorly the current pressure is behaving...my memory is so bad I can't remember what I did yesterday...I am riding an old DL650 in the dirt a lot with "80/20" tires ....it gets downright evil as far as front tire traction ...especially in the sand. I was thinking it might be nice to install a second valve stem on each wheel dedicated to sensor ....taking it on and off and on and off to adjust the pressure is going to destroy the rubber gasket in short order! The other way of course are sensors integral to the valve stem so that the sensor/sender is hidden inside the tire. that is expensive and seriously doubt it would work with this monitor anyway

Cody Ng the transducer in the sender is activated by motion. Only then does it send a signal to the display panel. If it wasn't that way ther system would be sending signals as the bike sat on the darkness of your garage and that would affect battery life.
@bestrestproducts648
@bestrestproducts648 6 жыл бұрын
Cody Ng also consider this: ABS braking systems. They don't start working until the wheels start to spin.
@dougiequick1

There is not a reason in the world they could not have it where you simply press button on the monitor to obtain a reading...my guess the only reason to not have this is to save price of a button?....like I mentioned before I like the idea of a 2nd dedicated valve stem just for the sensor! At 180degrees apart from fill stem it might also help wheel balance ....allowing removal of a wheel weight meaning no weight penalty to speak of????
@dougiequick1
@dougiequick1 5 жыл бұрын
@@bestrestproducts648 ABS system is TOTALLY related to wheel rpm...DUHH ....apples and oranges reasoning....tire pressure can be measured at ANY time with sensor/sending unit ....no reason the bike should have to roll first....I want a push button that turns the thing on! ...Do NOT want to have to ride the damn bike to see the air pressure! DUHHH!
@bestrestproducts648
@bestrestproducts648 5 жыл бұрын
Dougie - The sensors shut off when they don't sense rotation. That saves battery life. For them to start sending a signal again the wheel must be spinning. Got it now? Duh? When you turn on the key you DO see a pressure reading, but that's the reading in the tires when you last turned off the bike.

The problem with these things are you have to take the things off just to test your pressure before you ride as you could have picked up a nail riding your bike back in to your garage. PITA

Good grief Charlie Brown. That's the silliest comment I've ever heard. You're "thinking inside the box". Take a look at the tire before you ride. Detect flat tire. OMG. If there is, don't ride. Do you check both tires everytime you get on the bike? I don't, most don't. Within 100 feet the sensors give you a pressure reading AND they give you a warning in the event you get a nail during the ride and your pressure drops. How is that a PITA?

Martin you're badly misinformed in so many ways. 1. Clearly you don't understand the purpose of a TPMS sensor, or the benefits it provides. 2. Clearly you don't know that the Cyclops TPMS is not made in China. 3. Clearly you don't know that Cyclops doesn't sell their gear on Amazon, and that the quality of the Cyclops TPMS is far above other brands. 4. And clearly you've got an agenda and are looking for a fight. Yes, I'm a dealer for Cyclops, but first and foremost I'm a rider. I only sell gear that I use, gear that works, gear I can honestly recommend to my friends and my customers. You are neither.

@@bestrestproducts648 Don't beat yourself up about it. The exact same thing is available on Amazon over here and I do understand the benefits of TPMS having owned large motorcycle franchises for many years. Cheap kit has it's place. Just not in mine.

@@K22MDL sorry, but "the exact same thing" isn't available over there, or over here, or anywhere else. The Cyclops system is unique and proprietary. There are other TPMS systems on the market, and they may look similar, and they may give tire pressure readings, but they're NOT the same thing... anymore than a Ural is "the same thing as a BMW", or a Japanese V-twin is "the same thing as a Harley Davidson", or one helmet is as good as the next. /// Yes, cheap kits have their place. Generally speaking, in real life you get what you pay for. If you're budget conscious, go for something cheap. If you're quality and performance conscious, consider the Cyclops TPMS. Since you've owned large motorcycle franchises I would assume you'd go for quality and performance, since money shouldn't be a problem. ///FYI I've used these Cyclops TPMS kits for a couple years on several bikes. They've done a great job, they're accurate, they're reliable and rugged, and they've saved my bacon (and my riding buddies) a number of times when we picked up a nail. They notified me that the tire was losing pressure, so I was able to stop and make repairs before the tire was damaged. /// As to your original post where you said TPMS systems are a PITA, that really surprised me, especially since you claim a background in the motorcycle industry. You should know better than to make a silly statement like that.

Those zip ties are there to prevent the floating front rotor from klacking whenever the bike hits a bump... it's very annoying otherwise. The rotor is secured to the hub with the standard bolts so there's no problems.

@@bestrestproducts648 I can see where you would say that. Let me be more clear in this reply. So when I said real time I meant I'm looking for a TPMS that shows the correct TP as soon as I turn the key on so that if my tires are low I can adjust or fix the issue. I don't want to have to get all geared up, move the bike a few feet and then be like OK, the tires are good or OK I need air, that's a no bueno system for me. This should clarify what I first ment.

@@theperson7718 the sensors show the last pressure your tires registered when you rolled to a stop. Think about this... it's exactly the same setup with any car or truck that has TPMS sensors. They don't transmit until the wheels start turning... same with the Cyclops system. . There is no system in the world that transmits tire pressure the moment you turn the key.
