❤i think these portable pumps are the new are derfinately the next gen bicycle pumps. They work well and with little effort. Thanks for reviewing!

I agree they are pretty awesome, especially for electric scooters or bikes with hard to get to valve stems. The only downsides are if you forget to charge them and they are heavier than manual pumps. Thanks for the comment!

Nice idea to review the electric pumps mate, more and more people are looking into these with the proliferation of PEVs. I got the Xiaomi Mi pump and it’s excellent. Good quality build and the hose clicks into the body of the pump which automatically turns the pump on and off when you take it out and put it back in. It’s probably not the fastest pump, but it works really well for making sure the tire pressure is maintained to avoid pinch flats or for emergency situations.

Thanks for the review! Guess I missed the giveaway, but looking at purchasing one of my own for use on my motorcycle just in case. Can the A8 unit be plugged in to a power source and still be used at the same time? Just thinking if the battery were low or dead and need to inflate in a hurry. The other pump does have a nice storage feature for the hose. But these are just compressors, and have no small reservoir for air storage? Seems like a good fit in the saddle bag to help myself or others.

sorry for the late reply. From what I know these small pumps don't usually have pass-thru charging. So if they are dead you will just have to wait for a little charge to build up. These still do pump pretty well even with the battery low.

hi Electron Surger. the way you did the review is excellent. something that i was looking for. could you let me know how many months or years the battery last? i can see that you did the review back in aug 30 2021 any update if the pump is still running excellent? that would be a lot another level of review. please update

I still use the Vastar pump and I have not seen any signs of battery degradation, it has been great. I may do a follow up video. I

Hello I brought The cycplus A8 and charge it as it says in the manual then i waited till light turned green when i go to turn it on it does not show anything on the lcd please help

I did notice that the pump takes a longer than expected hold on the power button to turn it on. I would try that, aside from that I would reach out to cyclplus.

Can’t decide between the cycplus a8 or the cheaper a7. Do you have any experience with the slimmer the a7?

I don't have any experience with that pump. It kind of looks like it may be slimmer but quite a bit longer?

Can either one use 12v option if batteries die?

I do not think so, they both have 7.4v batteries and the manuals state to not use the pumps at the same time as charging.

How accurate is the gauge?

@Richard Kim, great question that I forgot to address. The Vastar Pump was right on with the analog gauge, the CycPlus was registering 4 to 5 psi lower than the analog gauge. My bet is all of these pumps are a little off, it is probably best to check them occasionally to make sure your pressure is what you want.

I have an A3 cycplus and tested it against two digital gauges and they all gave a similar reading - from memory 0.5-1psi on road bike tyres and motorcycle. I don't expect them to be 100% accurate and you always lose a bit of air on removing the inflator adapter. Not a.racer so close enough is good enough for me.

It should yes, it doesn't have a motorcycle preset. I have noticed that with larger air volume tires it does take quite a bit longer to fill.

I bought the vastar pump and it is a waste of money. Junk, e02 code which I looked up and said it’s broken and can’t be fixed. Never got to use it. Very disappointed!!

That is unfortunate, did you find out it was broken before the warranty expired?
