In this video I go over the cylinder identification on a GM 5.3L ecotec3 engine. The cylinder ID is as follows: Drivers side or left side from the front of the engine to the back you have cylinders 1, 3, 5, and 7. Passenger side or right side of the engine from the front to back you have cylinders 2, 4, 6 and 8.
This is vital information when it comes to diagnosing cylinder specific diagnostic trouble codes such as misfire codes or injector fualts as you need to know the location where these faults may be found.
