A Train Simulator film of a journey from Cymmer in the Afan Valley to Blaenrhondda in the Rhondda Valley. Very loosely based in around 1950. Please forgive my signalling errors along the way.

Brilliant , I lived in Blaencwm in the 1950s and I used this line to travel to Maesteg most Saturdays and to Swansea on day trips, the detail is spot on, I wish that I could purchase it for my train sim .

This music should be known as "the Rhondda tunnel theme" from now on, I've watched this about 10 times so far,and it's absolutely magical... Well done 👌🏻

Fabulous little video. This was the train we used to use to travel from Trehafod to West Wales to visit family in Glynarthen in the 1950's.

Hi, Im Lorine, a current year 3 architecture student from Cardiff university, I am currently doing a community design project fro Cymmer. Your video is really amazing and showing a lot of details of the past Cymmer, I am wondering did you use a 3d model to do this simulation? Thanks! The Porthcawl Route is available via the 'Recreating Britain's Lost Routes' Facebook Page. I hope to get the rest out there sometime. But bear in mind that most of these aren't routes as such, just models of a specific area. The Penarth coastal route will probably be next to get published...
