Cyndi is a fucking legend. Im from Australia so I dont know where she mixed up the words. But from my perspective she sang it hauntingly beautiful with no flaws. I put my hand over my heart every time I hear her voice

Beautiful rendition! Had to listen to it four times before I released her mistake.

She sounded like she was a little nervous. I have heard her sing this other times, she even did a more up tempo version and she always does an amazing job. I was never a big fan of Cyndi when she first became super famous but over the years I learned to like her both as a person and as a performer. She did a great job on her part in "We Are The World" in 1985. I'll give her a pass for her small mistakes, she deserves much respect.

This was a long time ago but I think people should cut Cyndi Lauper some slack. I understand it's the national anthem but she probably got nervous. For those of you who criticized Cyndi for screwing up one line, I would like to see you try to sing in front of a large crowd & not get nervous. She did a good job overall singing the national anthem. She just messed up one line big deal. It was a very minor mistake. She had most of it right. TBH I wouldn't have even noticed she messed up the national anthem until someone would point it out to me.
