If you are #cynical, at some point in your life, you experienced one or several serious let downs. Catastrophic sudden shocks or #disappointments relative to the positive elements of your life. For example, a situation or many that caused a catastrophic blow to your belief in others, hopes, dreams, goals, trust, faith, desires, or expectations.

Since cynicism is fostered by actions or inactions an idealist will often feel disappointed. I've "never met a cynical baby" either. Babies live in the present moment. Cynicism is learned it is not innate; therefore, time (past or future) is an important component of cynicism. Politicians and the media, who set an example, often criticize others for being cynical.

It may be one difference, but, it's not the only. a skeptic is really just an opportunist, like a salesman, who stands to gain something, enjoys the duality ride, and knows the ropes because she/he is skilled in the art of breaching, by stretching the boundaries of another- like a lawyer for example... who's actions actually cause cynicism in many... Where, a cynic is clearly not an opportunist or a salesman, and really just wanted to live in some semblance of Reality and to believe his/her fellow man was capable of love and decency, but found it not to be the case. The truth is there are many things in the world that should be rejected, and the rights of those who reject things not suitable for them should be respected, because forcing another to conform to ideals that squash their beingness is actually an affront to nature and the reason there are so many cynics and many other worse kinds of crazy people today.

I hate that I'll get close to people, and closer than I've ever felt, and I'll get a jolt in my chest and all of a sudden I want to run and hide and make that person never think I ever felt that way .. because I don't want to get hurt. But I'm hurting other people and just showing them I don't care which is what I'm sure I must have experienced in the first place... It's good to think about these things

I am like this too. I have been hurt so badly from people that I once trust that develop a form of social anxiety, each time someone wants to get close to me I get stressed automatically but now I learned to accept this part of myself. Thanks to introspective work I can now interact with people but I cannot longer be intimate with someone for long but I try to be honest with the person from the beginning by telling them that close relationship is not my priority for now. Now each time my anxiety reappear the other person know what to expect.

realistically, people are not worthy of your love. that is, love that expects them to be a certain way, they are infinite beings, and are just being what they are. they can not mirror your love, for yours yours alone. so love in essence is freeing. it loves them as they are with out any insistence , interpretation, need, or attachment. all else is really psychological romantic love which is transaction. love can not be added to or taken away so it does not know what that is. but ego does. so bascially drop romance and instead go for real love. how to get real love. drop psychology. drop all shoulds, all defintions idea. that is tending to the space in which love will show up. love can not directly be sought, for its already there, and any seeking produces a exp of it not there as seeking is of 'not there.' so when you are still, and with the truth. then love is finally seen to be present already and always.

I had to reach rock bottom, then the bedrock gave in and I was tossed into hell. In hell one day I realized I was totally unable to feel any positive emotions. Thank goodness I realized and learned to purposely change my state of being thanks to Teal, all because of a random Google search while probably in the worst state I had ever been in. This was months ago and I'm so happy I can finally watch one of Teal's videos having already resolved the particular topic of discussion.

The law of attraction is always answering my questions. I am having issues with my mother-in-law that is an 80 year old cynic that is scapegoating me for all her issues. We had a major fall out and although I see her pain I am tired of being blamed for it. I haven't spoken to her since because I am still angry about it and a part of me really wants to shove her issues back in her face and the other side of me knows that she is in enough pain already and I truly want to help her, but as of right now I am not there yet. Thank you for this perspective. I needed to hear it.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you. I can not express how relieved I am to hear words of rationality. The process of getting out of depression is a process of elimination. All the idioticy you have to endure just to find something actually helpful is tiring. Exhausting even. People with good intentions throw up positive psychology fallacies on your face and at one point you start to feel like there is not one person who has gone through what you have gone through and found a healthy way out. it makes you feel even lonlier and even more hopeless. Thank you so much for approaching this without disregarding my intellegence by spitting delusional positivity in my face. I wish everyone was as realistic as you are. I can not express my gratitude for being able to find one sane person with arguementational approach to these things.

Cynicism is inevitable when you get older, I’m 56 and I realize this now, it’s hard to shake off sometimes, but you have to work at it in order to do so and it creeps up on you over time, it just doesn’t happen all at once. A skeptic is very different from a cynic and they shouldn’t be used in the same context.

Cut the astrological bullcrap. That stuff doesn't affect us as much as our actual feelings and thoughts. I strongly disapprove of that stuff because it doesn't encourage healthy habits/communication or relationships. If anything all astrological stuff does is further the agenda for separation and pain. Not for growth/healing and resolution.
@michellealice1455
@michellealice1455 3 жыл бұрын
@@danielbarrera8391 It's all about perception. Astrology actually helps me to understand why I reincarnated into this life; and why I keep running into certain trauma patterns. It tells me why I have certain reoccuring feelings/thoughts. I feel like without astrology I would never have reached a certain point of calm that I'm in right now. Teal also talks about astrology in her video 'Mercury retrograde' and touches a little bit on what astrology actually is. You don't have to be so dogmatic about it, just let people have their views.
@danielbarrera8391
@danielbarrera8391 3 жыл бұрын
@@michellealice1455 So what have you learned? The truth is: from a higher perspective things like 'astrology' or 'planets' or 'full moon' only affect us as much as an ant crawling on a giants fingernail. THAT comes from a higher perspective. When you say, "let people have their views" that indicates to me that you still haven't dived into a deeper place where your negative and true feelings are. You're still feeling guarded. And that's understandable. But the fact is: the astrological and energy stuff 'affecting us' is just an excuse our ego uses to thwart responsibility for our feelings/actions. Do you honestly think that's a good thing? That in and of it itself is a 'pattern' and it's a pattern that is very popular as a coping mechanism.
@danielbarrera8391
@danielbarrera8391 3 жыл бұрын
I want to say that the reason I don't like that 'just let people have their views' is because its like saying, "Let someone who is delusional and is hurting themselves, continue to hurt themselves.". That luxury wasn't given to me when I first came into Teal's videos, so why should you get a pass? Maybe a part of me feels like that's unfair.
@michellealice1455
@michellealice1455 3 жыл бұрын
@@danielbarrera8391 I disagree with your statement that the planets only affect us as much as an ant crawling on a giants fingernail. Looking at my chart, and the charts of others, I can clearly see what some patterns are that I keep running into everyday. The astrological birth chart shows us what kind of subconscious trauma we are born with. '''THAT'' comes from a higher perspective' implies to me that you are saying things coming from a more three dimensional perspective are just to be discarded always? I do lots of shadow work so the claim that I'm still 'feeling guarded' makes no sense. You are claiming that people who use astrology automatically use it as a coping mechanism which is not true. I actually see it as the opposite, it shows me the TRUTH of who I am and why I was born on this planet. I use it to find TRUTH. How much do you know about astrology? Do you know the patterns of the planets; how they influence our subconscious? Or do you just know sun signs? It seems like you're really triggered so I'd like to know.

I'm only partly cynical. I'm overly cautious some would say. But many years ago the pendulum swung the other way. I wasn't cautious ENOUGH. I'm doing much better now, and am reaching out to others not for personal gain, but because I genuinely want to get to know them a little bit. I know what it's like to be hurt and to be disappointed, but it's really hurtful that there are people who believe that YOU might be an object of their hurt and stress. It's like having a wall around you that nobody can break. I've tried to break walls of other people and many times it doesn't work.

That was Awsome Teal, Thanks , I have a tendency to be Cynical, in the past before I took Entheogens I was very Cynical. I think I'm ready to try and find the Trauma that led to this deep distrust of People and the Universe :)

Yes to date I am a cynic. I fear being disappointed in relationships and life to the point where I push both away. I've learned to trust no one or the universe to have my best interests at heart. At times I find myself contemptuous of the naivete and positive outlook of others (and myself when I let my guard down). But watching this open a little space in my heart and mind, let's see where I go with that.

Well it’s hard to fukin be positive when bad or negative stuff always happens to you. It is a coping mechanism. I like how Teal didn’t try to sell optimism or positivity to us, like how so many other people do. Teal is real af.

brilliant how after you masterfully explain the causes and negative adaptive coping aspects of cynicism, you end with the positive aspect of cynics as people who are admiringly brave n their ability to look reality in the face , not escape from it. People who are cynics, if they are able aknowledge and harmonize their coping aspects, are far more able to achieve a mature and invaluable state of human balance for the good of all, including themselves.

Seriously, this is, as always, just the time for a video on this topic. I really thought about that just in these days. One of the reasons I got to a mental hospital two years ago for three months was that Teal's videos are just as someone looks into your head to a specific point in time where you don't even think it's relevant. I had this with nearly all media then. I thought that everything was made up just with me as a blueprint. That was horrible. It is literally you that all media and circumstances are talking to you, to everyone. You get mad in that illusion. Thank you for sharing your thoughts on this. I guess in my childhood I found cynicism to be "cool". Now I know better.
