There is one simple solution: The euro needs to be splited up into a "Northern Euro" and a "Southern Euro". If there was a separate currency for the richer north European countries and another currency for the poorer south and east European countries, there would be no need for the richer countries to intervene. The south Euro would be weaker, but these countries wouldn't have to fulfill any saving programs! And it wouldn't be weaker than the single currency of Cyprus or Greece.
