I just received and installed this bolt catch on a Bren 2. I love the function as it is much better than stock. After initial install the bolt catch seemed to be too tight and didn’t function freely. I did have to spend about 45 minutes using 600 to 2000 grit sand paper to lightly sand the channel of the bottom winged portion. It works great now but shouldn’t need this in order to function properly.

This was the first thing I did to my Bren2. HOWEVER, I HATE that it is plastic! I do not have confidence it will last long. Would prefer it be aluminum. Someone with a CNC could make this from aluminum pretty easy.

I ordered a Bren 2 last night. This will be THE FIRST upgrade I will be making! I just wish someone made a charging handle to give one on both sides, same time and not just swappable.

Thank you! And not a bad idea, I know there are some good options out there right now but no dual charging handles.

@@lingleindustries2274 I received the bold release today. Same day I picked up my Bren 2. Of course, I promptly installed it. Honestly, I'm a little disappointed. Since it is two pieces, plastic (polymer or nylon, whatever), and more leverage from the "wings", there is quite a bit of flex and I don't have confidence it will hold up. I know the original is polymer or plastic but this one is two pieces and has more leverage. I think it needs to be aluminum or at least an aluminum option. Even if it costs a little more. But the ergonomics are AMAZING! The Bren 2 should come with this factory!

@lewiszhang0115 I am. I wish it was aluminum though. I don't care for it being 3D printed plastic. I don't think it's going to last long. I will typically use it to lock the bolt back but not release it.

Just installing my bolt catch and works great with all my mags EXCEPT for the original cz mag it came with.. the bolt catch bottoms out and doesnt drop for some reason, i have to remove the mag and reset the bolt catch back into the up position.. has this happened to anybody else?

Nice I ordered 2, I wonder if it will work with the A3 extended mag release. they seems to occupy the same space, guess I will find out.

Great question, we were not aware of A3Ts extended mag release. Please let us know what you find out!

@@lingleindustries2274 Update! They rub against each other but will work. The extended mag release sort of pushes the extended bolt catch out of the way when in use. A slight modification will make it better but in the current state they do work.

@@Dawn_Raider That's good to hear, we may have to pick up one of the magazine releases to give the extended bolt catch the relief needed.
