This brings back memories of my buddy in HS who had a CZ 400. I'll never forget the "suspension" modification that consisted of adding three inches of padding to your seat! RIP Mark!

The races were great. I saw Staten, DeSoto, & Lackey.. I know the racers today are super athletes & they put on a great show. how about this: Rocket Rex leading at the 1974 carlsbad gp. was he on a factory special? no. he was riding a red frame 400 CZ. he led for a long time until the bike started coming apart. I think the only thing keeping the motor in the frame was the throttle cable & fuel line. he still got a top ten finish. around 8th I think. I saw some great races in the 70's. it was really great seeing this video. good racing!!!

i had a CZ 400 in 1980/81, it was a pig, wish i still had it though, went to a 1981 Suzuki rm125x which was a dream ride in comparison, quicker too.

Looks like slow motion compared with today's bikes. But was also a lot more fun.

Had a cz250, I miss that sound! That bike was indestructible. Well it did require a plastic coffin tank. lol Despite many crashes in So Cal desert, lake elsinore, riding around oil rigs next to pch... it would survive and keep running. Not sure how I did though looking back.

The video would have been good if I you didn't have background music interfering. Many people listen to their own streams while watching videos like screen savers. All you need is good scenery and conversation.

Does CZ handle as good as Maico ??

Nothing handles as good as Maico. Nothing.

back before shocks were moved up a CZ or a Maico were the (IMO) the ones to catch...i had a 72 CZ 250 and a 73 CZ 400....either one could beat a Maico on a tight twisty course but get on a track with some straights with sharp whoop'ds and the Maicos frame geometry showed its ass to everyone ..from 74 on the Bultacos handled great but engine reliabilty was below the german or czech offerings I moved to a Maico 400 after the radial barrels came ...the germans built it right with frame and suspension but CZ had it all over the Maico engine wise...you had to really try to hurt a CZ engine or transmission...the dry clutch was sweet too

Quel dommage qu'il y ait cette musique qui n'est pas raccord avec l'âge des motos. En plus elle est tellement forte que l'on entend à peine le bruit de moteurs. vidéo bien, bande son de la mer..

Stupid music makes it hard to hear the real music(the engines).
