@ospr88n213 жыл бұрын
@@deebreezy246 think about it, you’re not playing a string or blowing through a piece of brass. you’re hitting something that’s hitting the string but not hitting it. and on an electric keyboard you’re literally just hitting something and in turn it makes sound. that makes it percussive

It’s actually about Heroin, not weed. In slang terms ‘Brown’ is considered heroin.

@@Malik3215 No, it's about weed. The lyrics make reference to different strains and effects of weed.

@@Malik3215 you should probably read the lyrics of the song before making uninformed statements. Rolling Stones ‘Brown Sugar’ is about H, this right here is a weed anthem.

This is why I miss a US channel that was called Palladia. It's long gone now, but I used to watch this show 'Later... With Jools Holland', and his show always had great performances on every single episode and he always had an eclectic mixture of classic artists from back in the day and new artists and a mixture of music genres on the stage for each episode. Sometimes they would do a throwback episode and you could see an episode like this one from back in the day. Palladia channel didn't only have the Jools Holland show, but you could also see all of the Glastonbury and Isle of Wight festival performances, and a bunch of other festivals from various countries all over the world. That channel had concerts of all genres that spanned across time periods from all the way back in the 60s and 70s, to the present which at the time was about 2016 before the channel was cancelled and turned into an MTV channel. I discovered a lot of artist that I didn't know about at all, or I didn't know much about them but if it weren't for me watching Jools Holland's show and that channel in general I would have never have gotten into their music: Rudimental Arctic Monkeys Little Dragon Concha Buika and so many more artists. I miss that channel.😭
@greatgownsbeautifulgowns2 жыл бұрын
@Bill Brass Yes! The only channel that came close to it was Audience Channel... and that channel was also cancelled about 2 or 3 years ago.

@@willmerwin2226 not on this he isn’t , pino played on the records . But to be fair the best thing that happened to D’angelo was being born. Just like Miles Davis , David Bowie , flying lotus , squarepusher , Tupac, iggy pop . There’s music before these artist and there’s music after . And D’Angelo changed the world when it comes to groove and harmonic interpretation. In his field him and Stevie Wonder are the true originators and innovators of modern RNB . I personally would put D’Angelo as the most important artist of the past 3 decades because turn on the radio or Spotify and you will hear his influence in pretty much every modern production and primarily in the exclusion of Quantisation .
