This broke to ride horse recently started bucking, and also started refusing to be caught.
This is a good demonstration of how to use a spot of influence to your advantage to create mindful communication and connection, and establish yourself as the respected and trusted leader for your horse.
You'll clearly see how this video displays when the horse was not listening at all and then the mental and physical changes that happened when the horse found enough reason to listen.
Look out for Part 2 next week!

Good morning. As I mentioned before, our horsemanship approach is parallel, but I ALWAYS gain something new every time I watch your videos. So, thanks for taking the time to make them. I come across several clients, almost all of them, who have anthropomorphized their horses, and refuse to acknowledge that it's a horse. They are big on the "hoochie coochie" , "googoo gaga", "touchy feely" affection without gaining any respect. Then they wonder why the horse constantly runs them over and doesn't respond to them in a safe way. I can achieve healthy respect and understanding of boundaries with just about any horse, but the owners have a hard time showing any leadership that the horse will respect. Anyhow, thanks for your time.

Thank you ! Everyone does the best that they can do with their current level of understanding ! It takes some time and experience to not back out when the heat comes up or to put too much pressure back but rather to just know that if you stay steady a positive outcome is soon to arrive

Excellent. This is exactly what I was dealing with on my Hancock mare. I bet you can get results much quicker than I did....6 months. When I returned her to riding, I had a few minor lazy issues but we worked through those fairly quickly. After 3 rides, she was going along nicely.

I would like to have known was if he had been checked for any soreness or pain. For him to have been doing okay and then started bucking and being hard to catch, my first thought was that could have been his defense mechanism to protect himself from pain.
@cappelhorsetrainingandshoeing
@cappelhorsetrainingandshoeing 3 ай бұрын
Because he came though and got good and then stayed good tells me it was between his ears . Nothing wrong with checking for soreness but in this case and I would say in the vast majority of them horse do what they do because they can and because they are horses and if they can send us off on a rabbit trail to look for and excuse for there natural horse behavior then they win mentality one more time and the problem gets worse one more time . Not saying that poor fitting equipment or pain of some kind can’t cause problems but my several decades of experience has found that the majority of behaviors like this are between the ears .

I have one that bucks but easy to catch … ground work good transitions with walk, trot and canter. Walks up to mounting block without halter Appears calm- faces up. He will buck when saddle put on and put into lope on the ground if not had saddle on in awhile I rode him up until I saw him buck others off … shows no anxiety suddenly bucks Thanks for this video

@cappelhorsetrainingandshoeing
@cappelhorsetrainingandshoeing Жыл бұрын
Yes I do consider this . Poor saddle fit can be an issue . How ever most of the time this type of behavior is coming from between the ears .I find that a lot of people want to look for excuses for this type of behavior and then the problem never gets resolved. The mind is my first choice to resolve issues . I have found that sore body’s can cause problems though but not nearly as common . Thank you for asking Dennis

Saddle fit can be a problem when it is present . However that isn’t the issue here this is purely a horse that had found a way to avoid work and needed to return to a good work ethic

It’s hard to tell in the video, but I think your problem is the flank strap is too tight. too many horse whisperer’s.
@jameshornung4596
@jameshornung4596 10 ай бұрын
First off why would a broke horse start bucking? Second humans at best can only guess at what a horse is thinking. I'd think this horse lives in a small pen does not get rode much. Instead of chasing him around the corral try lounging him awhile til he is not so fresh. If he still wants to buck when you get on, check your saddle, if thats not the problem get him checked by a chiropractor because something is hurting.

It is the fault of the person handling the horse now. Can't use the excuse that it was the previous owner, or any other previous excuse. A horse is a reflection of the person handling it now.

@@gerrycoleman7290 So what you are saying is.. horses do not get habits, they reset to default programming with every new person. gotcha. ( And while I agree its almost always a human problem to start with, it ends with a horse having bad habits ( bad for humans, the horse dont see it as bad)that it will show with anyone... until someone shows it a better way ( and the human preferably, or it will repeat))
