Amazing! He was at the location of three of the key assaults of D-Day: the beach landings, then establishing contact with the troops at Pegasus Bridge, and finally linking up with the soldiers who had knocked out the Merville Battery. And all before lunchtime!

Those folding bicycles are very collectable and worth decent money to collectors and the motor bikes that would fold down nice and small are worth loads to collectors these items were not intended to last long by design but testament to designers they are ,still to be found,here and there,

I have to admire what these men did, and I have to question what the reward was for what they did. When the war ended they returned home to a country in a shambles and in debt, never to be again the country they fought for. So sad !

It would be stupid to kick out the skeptical guy with the supposed “broken arm” for “having no faith in the training.” If anything, his prove-it-to-me style of thinking is what lead to the UFC, mixed martial arts, and modern military combat systems.
@Kevin32001

+Stroop It's likely because of how he responded after the fact, studdering and such. But in the end, the soldiers in such an elite unit need to have 100% confidence in what they're doing. Hesitation in the battlefield for such risky or important operations can be detrimental. It's all about the mindset and attitude of person they're looking for, and that guy didn't possess it.

How many elite training schools have you run in the midst of total war?
@tylenol_jones
@tylenol_jones 6 жыл бұрын
old comment but the thing is you can't have a prove-it-to-me attitude as a soldier. even if the training weren't effective, you need your soldiers to fully believe that when you teach them 'x does y' that x really does y. that faith in the training carries into confidence, and deters second guessing or uncertainty which are the biggest impediments to successful action.
@HankD13
@HankD13 5 жыл бұрын
Maybe so, but not in an elite military organisation in a time of national crisis. He got his arm broken for being an idiot. Martial arts and UFC etc have rarely fared well on the modern battlefield - its all about being part of a team and individuals are a risk to themselves and their colleagues.
