When I refuel my Dmax with a Norweld I hold the bowser nozzle on the side when filling up and stop at the first flowback gurgle; if that helps! With larger tyres 265/70r17 I travel a little further than the ODO records. I drove 5k kms and calculated an average 12L/100km fully loaded at 3t (GVM 3.45t) not towing. I’m happy with that!

I’ll keep it in mind mate. Cheers. Yeah 12L per 100kms is brilliant 👌 what year dmax do you have ?

Hi could I ask what model is that dmax and did it originally have a tub on it or can your have the option to change to a tray
@AllAussieOutdoors
@AllAussieOutdoors Жыл бұрын
It’s the 2022 Xterrain dmax. It doesn’t have a tray option. I organised the tray and canopy myself

I towed my van at 2780kg and the ute weighed in at 3100kg just over 13.44k per liter over a 461kg trip Viscount V3 and Wildtrak 2021 Bi turbo ranger. All Stock

It's a pity that a car advertised as 'born to tow' and with a 3.5T towing capacity needs a GVM upgrade and many thousands of dollars spent on it to achieve that aim. I have the '21 version of your car (including a Jayco Swift OB) and am underwhelmed after 40k km. Good luck with your car mate.

What tow bar set up is that mate ?
@AllAussieOutdoors
@AllAussieOutdoors Жыл бұрын
Just the stock one that comes with the dmax mate. Only thing I added was an extended tow hitch to make it easier to hook up with the tray and canopy on

When you were doing your vehicle weight you didn’t add your self. We tow a 3080kg caravan with Colorado and get 16.5L/100 avg. So new diesels seems to be tuned reasonably.
@AllAussieOutdoors
@AllAussieOutdoors Жыл бұрын
Yeah add 90kg for me. Still a LONG way off the limits. Yeah I’m pleased with how it’s turned straight out the box 👌

@@AllAussieOutdoors great setup, we looked at DMAX but $70k on road plus GCM upgrades was too much. So bought a HSV Colorado already has GVM & GCM upgrade from factory at 6300kg plus factory AP brakes are upgraded already. For $52K with only 34000km could not go past it. Economy is great also towing.

Comparing apples with apples, my 3.2 ranger towing our forward fold camper is anywhere from 13.5-14.5 pending heads winds, fully loaded canopy etc.

@@AllAussieOutdoors defo a must when towing imo. Most dual cabs just have the coolant trying to cool down the trans oil before it returns to the gearbox which is not enough imo.

Use manual gear selection......hold it in 3rd or 4th...whatever keeps your revs at optimum power......your trans will thank you as will the trans temperature.....

That's not bad economy mate. My old 3.5 V6 Rodeo with canopy, towing a single axle tradesman trailer sucked down 19L per 100. D40 Navara with same load used 14L per 100, still lighter than what you have.
