I understand the message in this video. Basically fame and money can change you. And sometimes when you finally reach the top, its not sometimes what we quite imagine. And we sometimes battle with ourselves still trying to figure out who we are, and what we expect ourselves to be. He's saying we take certain things forgranted and are so quick to forget our purpose and why and how we got here. Or how we came so far the lengths the support from family, friends what matters the most to us. Money can buy you friends and the things you want and need but you cannot buy someone's love. So he wants people to understand what fame can do to people but don't let that change you. Yes its so hard to shy away from the real goal and dreams to be blinded by the riches. Just remember who you are and the one's who love the real you and who you should be yourself.

Unfortunately, the cold truth is that people don't "blow up" because they want to. Their talent and a dash of luck is what propells you in the industry. And sadly D Pryde evidently has neither.

+TragestyX i've been with russ since mars and his new stuff is far better than before. mars music limited his talent so it could be a hit with the kids but his new stuff is for the more matured audience. if you don't like his music then you haven't grown alongside russell.

When I first started listening to D-Pryde, I'd always see someone in the comments talking about how proud they were of him for getting so far, found it on every video. A year later, and i learn about all the things he's went thru, and heard his music progress i finally understand. It's like when he raps his song take you onto a journey into his life, you see him struggle, grow, and know what's important to him. Now it's my turn to say how proud I am of how far his gotten. Keep it up man

You need to take a trip to a record store or spend a good rest of your life listening to real hip-hop, let alone quality music in general. Start with the roots, Miles Davis....Herbie Hancock....Funkadelic.....work your way up to hip-hop because you obviously don't know what it is if you're listening to this bullshit every day.
@Keaboiii10 жыл бұрын
Jay Bernal Obviously you don't know what music is in General, the change of music to peoples minds and thoughts into written lyrics. To you those are "hip-hop" Bullshit you say, no, you don't even know who he is. From the start.

Kev If you trippin on me its the wrong person, go trip on that other kid, I love this guys beats and always recognize his music no matter what, lovin it every day :)

To everyone that's going against what I say why would you try to stop me from giving him advice that would change his life for the better and open his mind to higher levels of consciousness and thinking? Do you wish to hinder your brother from ascending and thinking beyond the confinements of modern mainstream American mentality?

This is the stupidist statement I've ever heard. I'm willing to bet everything had this kid been offered a multi album contract with a major for a few M's, he would've jumped on that without hesitation. D Pryde didn't make it because D Pryde ain't talented and charismatic enough. D Pryde's views can't even crack a mill after over half a decade of posting.

Stu Pidazzo You can’t blame him though, his realest songs couldn’t even propel him to fame, it’s not his fault people don’t want him. He’s better off starting his own thing like you said and maybe become a business man.

@stupidazzo54044 жыл бұрын
*Homie, I hope you reflect back on your rap career in hindsight and learn why you stayed getting only a few thousand views & never got to blow up: You never grew, progressed, or got better. Your music stylistically stayed in '09 while you seemed to care more about your hair, getting tats while boasting about how "dope" you are and how you've "made it", but that can't be any further from the truth. Your flow and pen game never stepped up while musically your peers and adversaries evolved passed you. Not to mention you already had the challenge of lacking charisma and having a rather unappealing nasally rap voice. Watching your interview with Tim was a bit on the depressing side, as it was obvious your thoughts and wisdom has derived from a comeup of "could've been" and wasted potential. Maybe your biggest claim to fame can be opening act for J Cole. Now assuming you have come to terms with your life and career for what it is, perhaps it is now time to re-invest your time and energy on more fruitful projects and accept your fate, but not one as an accomplished rapper that you had initially hoped. I wish you nothing but the best D-Pryde.*

Quite frankly, I appreciate the honesty in this song. I don't give a shit who you are, most of us make that bold statement like money wouldn't change them if they made it. How do you know until you've actually the grasped the lifestyle of a millionaire spoiled in financial freedom. We are all prone to sin, gain the world and it'll be hard to let it all go.
