Good work making your jig. I made up something similar for attaching a truck gearbox to a trolley jack. I mounted a plate to pto pump side hole and then welded a strut off it with a neat pin fit into swivel hole on my jack. Gearbox could rotate slightly for aligning it but couldn't fall over. Only got one set of fingers. In fact when I had truck up on axle stands and was taking out gearbox an earthquake struck and fell off axle stands and rolled across yard. I had pto plate off but didn't have jack in place. Good old Christchurch NZ. We had hundreds of nasty quakes for about three years after big one of 2010. Actually over 10000 after shocks in the next ten years but most were just a quick bang, shake and rumble.

I'm still enjoying your video's ... I have a smile as I am watching reminiscing about farm life in the 60's and how you guys manage working on the D11's when I have never even seen a D11 ... please thank Phil for push the GoPro button ... As an after thought ... with the type of work you do would it be feasible to leave the belly pans of.

I worked for a farmer back in the 80's, he was growing grain and also clearing Mallee scrub. After the huge dozer went through we'd be picking up the mallee roots and piling them up on a huge mountain of Mallee roots. I loved working there, everything about it was fantastic, the life style was the best I've ever experienced in my 60 years so far. The work though was real hard and thats coming from me who was a bricklayer before going over there. But it was worth it, I still curse the day I left I went back to the city, the worst decision of my entire life, even the old cocky said "are you sure you want to go back" but young men make dumb decisions when it comes to pretty women

Just an FYI for next time, even though the bevel gear to trans adapter is dowled to the bevel gear it must be clocked in with the dowles out and o ring off so the input gear is in the centre of the trans mounting bore, once clocked in check the dowle holes lign up if they don't you can machine them out oversize and put oversize dowles in. If they do fit the o ring, bolt it down loose, clock it in and tighten the bolts then drive the dowles in, put a 3/8" bolt and washer in the dowels so you don't hammer the threads in. Unfortunetly the o rings won't last as long as the trans when the machine is not abused. You won't get dirt in the engine through those inlet elbows as they are after the aftercooler so the air is blowing out but you can fill the engine with water if washing the engine down or parked out in the weather. Good job on the trans lift bracket, just don't let WH&S catch you use it, all lifting equipment in Australia must be tested to 2.5 x the weight being lifted and marked with a WLL as per Australian standards. 👍

I am just guessing to how much it weighs because if you said, I don't quite catch everything said.... a full size pickup would be my guess. I as well and many years ago, helped work in the shops in the southeast alaska. We would log till we couldn't and then head for the shop where we enjoyed the heat from a barrel stove and fixed stuff. Some of the equipment is quite large

It's not every day we get to see open trans surgery on one of the Tiny machines. Question in my mind - what in the world were you doing with the large orange ramp ( @3:06 ) in the background? It looks like it would deliver the user (🏍 a motorcycle rider?) to an awful high height.

You probably already know, one way or the other, by now, but my experience is (none on heavy equipment) that sealing one area of a high hour system up tight can over stress other areas further down stream. Do you ever worry about this?
@Bigsoot7393
@Bigsoot7393 2 жыл бұрын
I don't think that's the case mate, I just think if you're sealing up something because the seals are letting go chances are other seals the same age will start letting go too, it's all in your head haha
