What is the price difference between a 657 and 651? It has to be a lot to justify having to buy a D11 to push them. Or is there something that I’m not thinking about that makes it pencil out?

657 are twin engine 651 are front engine only.

Is that a really small blade on the the d11 or is it my phone? 🤣
@brucelee644853 жыл бұрын
Since this dozer is used as a push Cat it won't have the standard SU blade that we have all come to see. The standard dirt blade won't hold up to push Cat use due to it's construction. Under heavy use like this one you will tear a hole in the standard blade. Push blades like this one is has a heavier built frame behind the facing of the blade to put up with the rigors of pushing. Also the blades are built to conform better to the push block section of the scraper. Spreads out the pressure across the surface better.
@RiddickMaximus3 жыл бұрын
@@brucelee64485 thank you, that makes more sense than the blade looking small on my phone.
@djordjesarovic71023 жыл бұрын
@@RiddickMaximus it's called push or bump blade
@briangardiner10153 жыл бұрын
@@brucelee64485 Cat calls it a cushion dozer. It has solid rubber pads to absorb shock and heavy springs also to absorb the shock. The drawback to this blade is it can only be used for pushing scrapers. you would need to take it off and either put on a Semi U or a U dozer blade. A regular semi U balde is better if you are dozing one day and pushing scrapers the next. A Semi U is sutable for pushing scrapers just not day after day.
@briangardiner10153 жыл бұрын
@@brucelee64485 If you look at the side view of a cushion blade there are two heavy springs on top and two rubber blocks that absorb all the impact.

is the D11 a bit over-kill to be a push-cat?
@pushysix3 жыл бұрын
Nah not really, 651's are really big. I mean a d10 can push them but it's much easier on the dozer if it's easy pushing. The bigger the better I figure
