Sounds like a plan. Completing projects you have already started (grots, their tanks, 10 boy units) all sounds good. I hope you've got your army paint recipes figured out, and how it's going to work with your new bases--that in particular would be interesting to see--the army-wide basing scheme. My boyz are headquartered in an alien rain forest so I've been using a lot of Vallejo Dark Earth, dried twigs, foliage tufts, small stones, and shredded twine for roots on my bases. I am always having to remind myself to put tracks on the bases with vehicles on them.

I recognize so many aspects. I have amassed a mass of Orks, but ideas keep on coming, but finishing is always in last place. It’s so much easier to buy more instead of building and painting them. However I enjoy the fact that you like to have the orky randomness and just buy and build what you like. Competitiveness is killer for flavorful armies.

My advice would be to paint what gives you joy. Painting what you feel you have to because it's the most points or it's the meta is a sure way to make you despise your Orktober challenge and in the end a hobby is about having fun.

Nice collection. As you seem to collect every nice model.. Did someone tell you that are there are 5 times more of really amazing ork models that you can 3d print?

Definitely focus on painting the models already assembled. Stuff on the sprue or even in its original box is easier to store. Whereas assembled, unpainted models take up more space, to no benefit.

If you have the space I would alternate building and painting. You have box sets you should finish building and Id say knockout those out as you seem to be almost done with them all especially that megaforce so those can big accomplishments under your belt. Thats what Im currently doing with my necrons. This year Iv dedicated a month or 2 to a Necron Box set(sad I have that many, some are duplicates lol) This month was the necron killteam set and all available models beyond the KT box itself that can be rostered so a total of 23 models. Its a double wammy because I will have more painted models for my army overall but I will also have a fully completed killteam for that game. My last two months are dedicated to the Boarding Patrol for November and finally painting my Indomitus necron half to close out the year. I just feel completing box sets really gets you motivated to seeing bulk sums of your army completed in one go
