Anker should take note of the app features, also the dual charging capability as it’s always great to make use of the sun and AC charging when available.

A hybrid inverter will use PV as well. Get a 50V 280Ah lfp battery and a handful of solar panels and forget about electricity bills. With full sun PV and my battery I can draw 6kW before the grid has to start to chip in

@@seanoconnor8843 again - not really comparable. If I only want a small amount of power, or power for just a brief period, for a few tools or to boil a kettle numerous times, without noise and fumes, one of these power stations is ideal. I can even take it to places at the weekend like power on the beach, or a camping trip. I have no regrets buying it.

In one of your videos I saw you connected a solar panel to a car battery to charge it. How can I do that? What kind of sola panel do I need. Do I need inverter? How do I know the level of the charge? Than you

I'm starting to think these things are getting a bit like multimeters. In addition to basic functionality they try to cram in random slightly useful features like torches. In fact is a torch on a power station like this the equivalent of putting a transistor tester onto a multimeter? :)

Yes. Or a Swiss Army knife. Lots of useful features, a couple of which you may never use.

That looks like an EcoFlow knock off with the buttons and outputs as well as the yellow warning. I have an Ecoflow and it looks like there using the same parts
@BROOMEngineeringTMIET3 ай бұрын
It would be interesting if you did an efficiency test. I have an Ecoflow Delta 2 which is similar spec. If I measure the energy (kWh) consumed at nominal 230V during charging from X% to Y%, and then measure the energy (kWh) it can deliver at nominal 230V discharging from Y% back down to X%, I can only achieve real terms efficiencies of around 60 - 70%, with some variance depending on loading during discharge. Faster discharging has generally yielded better efficiency, presumably because the 230V output inverter is energised for a shorter period. I haven't really experimented with charge rate on efficiency, but have assumed slowest charging at 200W is best for efficiency, as less heat created to dissipate.

1400wh to charge via AC from 0 to 100% @ 600w 1080wh from 100% to 0% AC @ 650w 1080/1400 = 77% efficiency Ambient Temp 10c Battery around 21c maxing out at 30c on the app HTH
@BROOMEngineeringTMIET3 ай бұрын
@@Gravitational234 thanks for this. My Ecoflow Delta 2 is typically around 1.23 to 1.26 kWh AC input for 0 - 100%. 200W charge rate. 100 - 0% typically delivers around 0.80 to 0.83 kWh with a variable AC discharge rate. Nominal ambient temp around 15 Deg C. So quite a bit lower efficiency with slower charging and variable discharging.

@@BROOMEngineeringTMIET Got my 2nd unit today and achieving 80% efficiency now charging 1 in to the other. Inverter appears to use about 30-35wh. Have powered a 100watt load for around 8.5 hours off 1 unit. The app is where efficiencies can be tuned eg with fridges and freezers over night when no solar, scheduling inverter off for 1 hour in 2 or 2 in 3 with devices set to max to make most of when inverter on. etc. Temps 15c and 41c max battery

Great video, Julian, but could you not have looked into the solar power side of it? Powering it up by solar panels, I think that would be of interest to myself, but also to all the others. Maybe it's something you could do another time, but again, great video.👍👍👍👍

"EV-grade LiFePO batteries"? Don't EVs all use NMC chemistry due to the higher power density?

EVs are increasingly using LFP. You get far more charge and discharge cycles.

Very pricey units, although kind of useful. I fail to understand why everything has to be controlled by an app. Before too long (and it will happen), the app will be unsupported and render those features useless. Then again, that's just my opinion and why I will never buy anything requiring and app. Great video as always though!! Thanks! 😊

@@Multi-Skill-BillKids forget. With the Dabbsson app you can schedule everything on and off, including charging etc. And with a cheap smart plug between it and the mains you can turn it on from the smart plugs app, from anywhere in the world subject to a wifi connection. You can't turn the 1300 on if it's off via it's own app. A scenario could be you have freezer on max while solar is avalible and you schedule inverter to come on 1hr and off 1hr through night, saving 50% inverter losses and keeping freezer more than cold enough.

Not impressed, really. For just double the price (or two of them which you could parallel with an additional adapter to get some more use out of it!) you can get e.g. a Bluetti EP500Pro which has almost 4 times the capacity of this thing and 3kW of constant output power plus a ample of solar input handling capacity. The high end "solar generators" really have come down a lot in price lately, only the mid- to lowrange devices haven't caught up to the trend really... BTW: I can get the DBS2300 (seems to be much more useful larger brother) for €999 right now, what's up with that?
