It's incredible how just changing the tone can completely change how the song feels, and still hit just as hard

I enjoy how these two versions of the aong kind of adapted to Dabi's personality throughout the arc When we meet him he seems cold, relatively apathetic, impulsive but contained. The original _cross my heart_ fits that impersonal but dangerous energy. He has a past and it clearly is part of who he is. He answers to no one, and who he is is none of your business if you're not fuelling his flames. As the story progresses Dabi becomes far more tragic, far more chaotic. You find out not only what his past is but why it fucked him up so badly. He becomes more hectic, out of control. Desperate and unhinged. He's in pain. And everyone's going to know it. Even if he has to burn the world to the ground. This version captures that progression really well. More emotional, raw. An edge to it that says "it's been personal all along." I found a couple of the vocal transitions a little bit abrupt/incongruant but otherwise i cant really find much to dislike here. Two awesome songs for a great character, thank you for sharing this with us And the video is absolute fire as well, kudos to Jeup who rarely seems to miss

The original was already so amazing, and it's metal/rock style made it an instant favourite and 'on repeat'. It always hypes me up, even to this day. Now, it's been remade into a softer, more emotional song that somehow is still amazing in that it really reaches deep to put forth the emotions in Dabi/Fabvl's word (that manga readers love). You've taken one amazing song and turned it into two absolute bangers, hats off to everyone, keep being amazing, Fabvl. We fans will keep bopping.

The Vocals from the OG showed the anger in Dabi's eyes and the Reimagined Mixing reflect on the pain of his abused childhood.

Following the 6th season, Dabi became my all-time favorite character from any show I've ever seen. I remember hearing Cross My Heart when it first dropped in 2020 and being obsessed with it, as the anger expressed really fit the character. Now that we've dug deeper into his backstory, hearing Cross My Heart Reimagined does not only show the original version through an entirely new perspective, but it also shows the pain Dabi had to endure throughout his life and fits that feeling perfectly. With both versions of the song you've made, I can picture Dabi producing this himself both before and after the reveal in the 11th episode of season 6. This is truly a masterpiece, and the way you projected the pain that Dabi would feel if he were a real character makes me want to cry myself. I want to say that he could've addressed that pain in any other way, but I'd probably do the same thing in his shoes. And that's beside the point; the child he was growing into the person he is truly adds a lot of mystery to the entire My Hero series. Horikoshi doesn't focus the entire story on just one character, he targets a large cast of characters, spicing up the story with a plot, multiple subplots, loads of mystery, and even a spin-off manga series. Seeing fans make fanmade songs truly adds on to the masterpiece of a series Horikoshi created, and having such talented fans out there makes me proud to be a part of this large fanbase, even as exhausting and strange it can sometimes prove to be. Keep up the good work, Fabvl. I love your stuff and I hope you come out with more reimagined versions of the songs that were already a masterpiece. I honestly did not think the original Cross My Heart could be made any better than it was, but you have proven me dead wrong with this remastered masterpiece of what was (and still is) a masterpiece.

It took me to the end of the song to realize that this real imagination focuses on Dabi's reaction to pain cuz in the 1st one it was more of "I've been hurt so I'm hurting others for revenge" compared to the second,it's saying "I am hurt but I need something to help full that void and I am stuck in suffering and nothing can save me." I love how even when using the same lyrics it's just the music and the vocal changes can help change the whole meaning while sticking to the same generalization and I love how favbl does that as a music artist along with other creators live divide music. In summary,I love this song, what they did,the edits, the idea the creators and I am a massive fan.

You really showed Dabi's internal thoughts and exterior at the same time. The voice and lyrics (which we hear more prominently) are rough and hateful. You can tell the anger and determination, but then theres the music. The soft background adding to the harsh tone tells a different story. The music itself sounds soft, scared and sad. Its desperate and begging to be heard, to be helped while the lyrics say the opposite. Just like Dabi himself. Absolutely fantastic.

Cross my heart was the first song of yours that I ever heard, and I’m just sitting here think how crazy it is how slower lyrics, different background music, and shifted emphasis in the words can change a song from “I’m going to turn this world to ash” to “this world has killed me already so I might as well return the favor”. First time around sounded like pure anger made sound, while this time it sounds like a somber tragedy.
