This is marvelous, much better than getting between waggons and coupling or uncoupling. A much safer way.

dangerous system, exposing the operator to an accident due to entrapment, the operator has to enter between the two cars to pull the decoupling lever,

Better than chain and buffer coupling

A scharfenberg coupler? Those have existed for ages now. Either way it's great to finally have a standard coupler.

@martlbue80992 жыл бұрын
@holgerkollmus35152 жыл бұрын

we have been using autocoupling since 1873, A National Model 21SB-E60DE (Type E) sells for about $300; a Model 21F70CE (Type F) for about $400

Knuckle couplers do connect automatically but crews still have to get between the cars to lace up the air hoses and open the angle cock.

@@Mike-jv8bv yeah and all you have to do to hook these up is back the cars into each other. Knuckle couplers are great but if you're going to go to the trouble of replacing buffers and chain why not replace it with something that doesn't require any bending at all.
@unaizilla5 ай бұрын
the knuckle coupler is only semi-automatic and they generate a lot of slack, specially on long trains

Why not just use a knucle coupler like north america or an SA coupler like Russia? Both already exist and have proven themselves

@ZILOGz80VIDEOS Жыл бұрын
knuckle couplers only join the cars together, crews still have to lace up the air hoses and get between the cars to do it. Look up videos on coupling and uncoupling cars, there's a ton of careful ergonomics to properly disconnecting the air hoses and angle cocks to do it safely and quickly. This eliminates that with one simple motion that can be performed without having to get any part of your body near the rails.
@rearspeaker6364 Жыл бұрын
@@ZILOGz80VIDEOS t is an improvement......but, if the coupling is on a curve, you will be manhandling the coupling to get it to couple, and still have to reach for an angle cock to open, plus if uncoupling the release lever is on the coupler itself.

@Alexandr-ss5hy21 күн бұрын
