A wonderful conversation with dad before bed. He asks about Bill but the kitten diverts his attention.

He’s 91, tired, but keeps asking how everyone is doing and still wants to help. What a man!!!

I never get tired of Ed’s repetitive questions. I so admire both you and your families patience with him. Your love and respect for him are his constant companions.

The way he says, "I was born in 1932!" ...never gets old 😂

Ed, is always concerned with his family. I believe that’s what is helping him, fight off the spells of dementia and keeping his mind strong and focused on family. ❤

I think it's so sweet how Ed often asks, "Is there anything I can do for you before I go to bed?" God bless and keep him.

Grandpa may not remember his age, but he always remembers the year he was born ❤❤

I love when he comes and sit at the foot of the bed for one of his little chats. Treasure these moments.

I love when he says, "91!!! I was born in 1932!", like he's trying to convince Dan there's no way he is 91 years old. Love seeing this man on my phone screen....I pray I see him for many more years to come! ❤️

I love the shock in dad’s voice and face when he hears that he is 91 years old. He keeps me laughing when he says “I’m 91!” Then he scratches his head.❤❤❤

You have a great father, Sir. At the age of 17 my grandfather was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease, and my grandmother later on when i turned 18. I lived with them at the time, and they are all I had. I spent many years taking care of them, but I regret none of it. It was hard to deal wirh such a horrible affliction at such a young age, watching the two people you respect most loose their identity slowly, but there where great times too. A fond memory I had was when one day, my grandmother came up to me and apologized for her delusions and that she knew she was wrong sometimes, but expressed how it was so frustrating to deal with when she believes what she thinks is true. That was certianly one of those rare lapses of sanity in a sea of confusion in her later life. Never loose patience with your father, and always remember that even if it is frustrating at times, they'd do the same for us a thousand times over. It's so kind of you to take care of him in these years of his life, I am 100% certain he understands it as well deep down. I am 24 now, and think about them every day. I experienced many setbacks academically and career wise because of it, but I belive taking care of my grandparents was the nobelest thing I have ever done, that my time with them was invaluable. As a personal note, thank you for posting these experiences with your father, it reminds me of what those days where like to me, and the times that made it more than worth it.
