They're a band made up of three brothers. Remington, the singer, wrote the song and directed the video. He wears makeup because as a child his dad abused him and he thought if he looked like someone else then he'd become someone else. The whole song and video is about his childhood.

“This song and video is extremely personal to me. As a child I was physically and mentally abused. Which caused me to become extremely depressed and suicidal. I always thought that I was the problem, that I must of done something so wrong to deserve that type of abuse from a person who was supposed to love me and didn’t see any other way out. It’s the reason I started wearing makeup because I thought if I looked like a different person ,I would become a different person. A person that stands up for themselves. I somehow made it out alive and so grateful everyday that I did. He was on his roof as a symbolic representation of what it was like to be on drugs, it also is him leaving his body because u can see a huuge pile of pills on the table that he looks at while on the ceiling. Also, he digs his own grave in the video because it was meamt to mean like, he is slowly dying and digging his own grave with drugs and depression and he knew it but can't seem to stop as they were his only escape, he wanted to live but was also suicidal, his parents were standing at his grave pretty much telling u that his parents never noticed him slowly killing himself both literally and figuratively. Parents say that some people go through the same and that they are exaggerating but everyone has a different breaking point and are different.

Palaye Royale just released an album called The Bastards today, and this song is in it. The rest of the songs in the album also talk about important topics. Some of the titles are Massacre, The New American Dream, Anxiety, Masochist, and Redeemer

i really relate to this song, being as i was forced out of the closet by my extremely toxic and manipulative mother and was forced to stop talking to the one person who really truly cared about me and i’ve barely spoken to anyone outside my family in a month. ive lost all inspiration and my mental health has rapidly declined and theres nothing i can do to fix it
